A collection for ugly people, so one sees the clothes as ugly and not the people.

A perpetual conundrum of mine is why designers, especially high-end (outrageously expensive) don't cast models who represent the idealized customer. Unless odd-looking emaciated models are who their customers are (can't imagine where they're getting the money from). Could you imagine any of those models being cast with Armani? I'm guessing those brands know what they're doing--I'm a photographer, and I'm pretty good at casting to get results... just saying. I have to stop the clip to appreciate the garments because it takes too long for me to recoup from the shock factor of the models' appearance.

After reading the comments and reading the little context by Raf and Muicca on this collection from vogue, it is fair to say they are both true and the humor is in the framing. I think it is important to remember that runway shows are proposals for how people should dress or think about clothing. This is a proposal to rethink ‘outgrowing’ of clothes. Is it because they are ugly or because they don’t fit or more like they don’t fit with societal norms? We have a combination of oversized and undersized items because they are proposing how we should look at all types of hand-me downs. So yes 90% can be replicated in the thrift store and the moment you go and replicate this, the moment you have bought into their proposal. You don’t have to buy the prada clothes. You might if you like the colors, prints etc. Another comment on sweaters and Jackets are proposed in the summer. 1.) These ‘wool’ sweaters are likely made of cotton - there is an illusion for you. Also if you pay attention to the fact that the sleeves are shorter, these actually allow to be breathability - reframing the reusability of an outgrown jacket - it just merely shifted from a fall wear to a summer wear.

And yes it doesn’t deter that this could also be a business decision (less fabric) etc but I think they had fun with it - probably didn’t overthink the collection and with that they might have given us something new here.

it is really "HARD" to believe that Prada finance reports keep on has 2 figures up ever annual. Will the past few seasons collection and ESPECIALLY this "SO UGLY" collection. If Prada still say they has 2 figure up in the future. That proof that Prada accountants is really "MAGICIAN"

…I’m sure the clothes will be more varied and different in stores come next spring summer. It’s an OK collection. Clothes tight to the body, the classic miuccia collars and pants with buckles. We want AMPED up collections from Miuccia and RAF and we aren’t getting them

God knows how they are successful. I wouldn't have guessed in a million years that this is a spring/ summer collection.

My favorite brand of all time to this very day. Yet this collection is a wash, everything looks blah, as if they ran out of ideas and is now in a money grab phase of just throwing the Prada name on anything, hope i am wrong.

nothing that wouldn't look out of place at uniqlo.. also, if you are going to send sweaters and bog standard high street fit type clothes down the runway, there is no need to have tall skinny models because you aren't looking to demonstrate silhouette. I see nothing here but weirdly cut crotches. like, "wow"

An unbearable bad taste, especially in those short sweaters and cardigans, in pants and what I like least are those jackets with cut sleeves.
