Pixel 2 XL - Does The Screen REALLY Suck?

The problem was never the fact that it got burn in, but how quickly it got burn in. Happened excessively on Samsungs in 2017 too. It was just a rough year for OLED's

Good day sir dave, is it worth to buy Pixel 2 XL this time ? It's because I am a fan of pixel cameras, and it is right for the buck right now. I want to go for photography and some games for a phone that is what I am looking for.

What is everyone on about, I have had my 2 XL for 2 years now and nothing has changed and I use my phone a lot and abuse it. My screen is the same it was since new and no burn in whatsoever. My phone has even had multiple tempature warnings from being forgotten in the sun a lot (oops). My battery life has not changed a lot sure maybe an hour less but still strong and better than even modern iPhones. It also charges fast and efficiently. Idk if I jsut got lucky but my phone is still the same like it was brand new 2 years later with daily usage.

Firstly. I would never pay 850 bucks for any phone. Perfect or not. I bought it for 240 bucks brand new,,but all the things people are complaining about are so minimal, compared to the quality and constant updates.
So far,the best phone I've ever had.

What about the brightness? 😐 Everytime i take out my phone while on a walk I can't see the screen for shit and the brightness is AT MAX FFS

Picked up the Pixel 2 XL in March 2020 used from Amazon, the blue shift is acceptable but no big deal. It's a great phone still.

The iPhone 11 color shifts like crazy. Used my colleague's phone to make a call and realized how shit its display is. I use the Poco X2.

I never had a problem with the display. I wanted to hate it but I didn't. I'm rocking both the pixel 2 XL and 3 XL and I like the form factor of the pixel 2 XL with the dual tone rear. Pixel 3 XL has better display and the front cameras are boss

There's a Google pixel 2 XL on eBay for $179 the front camera on the back camera will not open should I purchase this device and the cameras be fixed with a software issue?

Great video man I think the panda black and white phones have the most problems I have returned two of them and they were horrible for screens issues,I just got a black one and so far so good.

Samsung AMOLED panels don't get burn-in unless they're store display models, lol.

No other manufacturer that offers 2 years warranty? It might be European legislation, but every phone I've owned in the past years have all had 2 years warranty

It has amazing hardware, dude. Best camera? Top end specs? Great speakers? It's just the screen and as I have researched the newer build models do not have the screen issues anymore.

Most of the times u are right @Dave Lee but on this one i have to disagree... Very good software should not be an excuse to provide a lower quality of hardware, that u can expect for a pricetag like that... So you are gonna buy a phone that has great software, but the quality of hardware is mweh. the screen is what u are looking at the most of the time... I think google made a misser on this one.

Please make an updated video after the November Update...it tends to fix most of the problems....PLEASE!

can someone please test the displays of the pixel 2 (and smartphones in general) with proper (calibration) hardware, woud be super helpful for photographers who want to edit on their small devices on the go, as it is possible nowadays with for example the lightroom app

What about the grain on the display that you can even see on the burn in photos?
