Why Fortnite NEEDS To Change Battle Passes

Epic definitely watched this video months ago and were already planing to change the exclusivity 😂

First of all get rid of the battle stars, it’s a terrible system and looks ugly second stop having collars thirdly make a interactive battle pass again like chapter 2 season 2

Honestly, I don’t really mind fortnite original skins not ever coming back, although getting to finish aspects of it like styles and whatnot would be nice. What really bugs me are the collab skins just being locked away forever.

they should add an additional exclusive style to battle pass skins for people that already have the battle pass like with skull trooper and then make all past battle passes available for people to buy and complete. that would add so much more replay value for the players and ways for epic games to make money because people like me would happily pay to get things that have been forever out of our reach

I hope someday I am able to complete my Mandalorian’s beskar armor. And unlock Darth Vader, weiteyr it be from different variants for them on the item shop or Epic deciding to rerelease the old battle passes. 🙏

If it worked the way you’d have it work, it’d defeat the whole point. To make you feel accomplished. It makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something in all your time playing the game, but if you could just do it just like that, it’s just not rewarding. It goes from “Oh cool! I unlocked more items!” to “Oh, I got stuff. Whatever.”

Everyone crying is only wanting this change so that their locker can be maxed out too. The only reason I bought the pass was because it wasn’t going to come back. Bonus was playing a free game and leveling up and completing the battle passes. There are plenty of skins in the item shop. You can only wear one skin at a time anyways. No need for you to want black knight lynx or whatever fruity skin has been haunting you for not being around. There are plenty of skins I missed out on and I don’t cry about it. If the season is good I play if it’s not I don’t. Do what you want from the battle passes going onward but don’t touch the past ones.

Its funny that you say Fortnite can come up with some other way to have exclusivity. But they already figured that out...its called the battle pass. Shop skins return. Battle Pass do not. Pretty simple concept. It encourages people to buy the pass and play the game. And its profited massively.

what if hypothetically you could buy loot boxes (HEAR ME OUT) of earlier passes? like you get a back bling box and boom: back bling, or a skin box, which is a higher price, and then players could get earlier cosmetics, i know loot boxes suck, but its something epic could do

I was gonna play chapter 5 season 1 for peter griffin, but I decided not to wich I really regret doing because now I can't play as Peter since he is locked by a battle pass 2 seasons ago which sucks, so I agree. FORTNITE CHANGE YOUR BATTLE PASS!!!!

They should probably make a battle pass for every season similar to the collab passes, in which for example: chapter 1, season 9 would get a completely separate page for its pass so you can get all the stuff you couldn’t, still you gotta pay for premium awards but at least those passes from the past aren’t disappearing anytime soon!

start playing chapter 2 season 6 and havent missed a season since, my issue is i have lara croft which im really happy about but i never finished that season so i missed out on raven and spire assassin.

recently bought an account that has both those skins so ima do my best to keep it from getting banned so i can lvl that account too when i have time and switch to it when i feel like playing as raven.

wish that kind of stuff wasnt bannable tho tbh, ive done alot of research on how to find safe accounts even saw a reddit thread talking about it and there was one guy in there talking about how he just wanted to play as doomslayer lol

i think a good system would be letting previous battle pass skins be available in the shop in bundles that contain the skin, backbling and some of the characters other cosmetics but keep the super styles exclusive so if someone wants to show off that they actually played during that season they can show off the super style.

league of legends used to release skins that were meant to be exclusive but later they added a rotating shop to their game that allows you to buy old exclusive skins and the people that got the skin when it came out have an exclusive style for it for free, and the league playerbase isnt broken up about it at all (i know because im one of them)

Epic really needs to bring passes back with SOME kind of caveat. Whether it’s an OG style, or an increased price tag to buy a pass, it needs to happen.

Been playing since chapter one, and during 2020 my mental health plummeted (as did most) and I COULD NOT play Fortnite. This kept me from getting some of my current favorite characters in Fortnite, Slone and Jules.

Some of these people are just really unempathetic, I noticed. I’ve talked about this since chapter 4, and even when I bring up the PHYSICAL THINGS I had to prioritize over PIXELS, people will be like “lmao should’ve played kid.”

I agree with you, at some point theres gonna be a time where this game is gonna start going to shit and theyre gonna have no choice but to give us fans what we want. Same reason how OG fortnite returning is like a emergency button just in case. Happiness isnt forever, and thats just how we gotta see it. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if they do return in the next 5 years maybe. Due to the lack of players or just ideas in general.

Your biggest misconception is theres no legal barrier there absolutely is they intentionally state the skins are exclusive which if they did return would be false advertising a very much illegal action that would get epic in a lot of trouble the skins are gone just accept it

i just want elite agent :( ( i played all the og season i just didnt think it was worth spending money until chapter 4 season 4) skins like black knights, drift and peely some that are like very nostalgic like friends of mine that dont play fortnite still know the skins and i play that game but i really want them and for me and my sweaty a$$ friends we all missed lara croft whcih is so annyoinh

as much as i would love to see this happen, it's unlikely. The sheer power of FOMO is far greater than any amount of content they could bring back. After all, I have seen various instances of people only continuing to play the game just to not miss out, rather than because they are enjoying it. I have no doubt too that this can continue for the foreseeable future, as if it has made it this far, who's to say it can't go farther?

A baffling thing to me is that Fortnite has implemented the perfect system to let battle passes return, but hasn't done it yet. They have a universal XP and Level system that, to my understanding, has been around in a similar form each season. They can keep the same quests related to the current season in without worrying about how it'd work with the past ones. But they still refuse to do this.

I personally think they should re release old battle passes but people who used to own it have the super styles or like ch2 s2 og owners have the gold or ghost and shadow style but people who buy it new only have the set style

Smartest move would be re-release the items in the shop, they could clean up the shop and do daily, 3 day, weekly, bi weekly, and monthly tabs, fomo would still be a thing cause you won't know when they will return
They would make more selling them by themselves vs earning it in a battlepass, congrats you got them cheaper and early if you unlocked them in the battle pass, only collab skins should have all edit styles, epic game skins shouldn't I do feel they earned those, imagine golden peely being in the shop for 2000 vbucks, people would be pissed and rightfully so, just the items in the 100 tier pass (unless it's a collab then all) but people got mad about a dog back bling getting reskinned for the item shop so there will still be people mad if they re-release battlepass skins, but more people would be happy vs the few who won't be

I feel the same way, I didn't start playing until Chapter 5, Season 1, I really like Lil Split from Season OG and I definitely regret it, it hurts when I see someone use that skin.

I mean I started in the middle of Chapter 4 Season 2 I missed out on a lot of battle passes like Gumbo, Meowscles, Midas, if they honestly sold the skins with their stuff in the shop I’d honestly buy them. Or make it to where we can trade skins between friends and stuff. If they don’t do that then only way is to buy or sell accounts. Plus I missed out on Chun Li and Cammy and I wish I was there in that time to get them

I would pay extra for the stuff I missed. I love Tomb Raider and I love Lara Croft, I didn't get Internet until about last October and I didn't start playing until December. So I have around six years of stuff I missed. I even found some Fortnite original characters that I would love to play as, the biggest one was one named Helsie.

I just don't get why they don't just make it one of the packs that they have from time to time. Like right now we have Chewbacca and Crimson Warden to name a few. And they're in the shop for months, why don't they just do that but for battle pass characters? If anything, it's a win-win. They get more money from new players and people who may have stopped playing and they get the skins they want

What I’d say to do is this; choose one season to play in (everyone can play in a different season) and then stay with that one for a whole season then the next chapter do the same thing as like a chapter thing to make you wait that long, then you would be able to choose which one you want then buy it, and since it’s every chapter not season, you could do it every so often and it would still be rare, then the players who want chapter 1 stuff can get them, and since not all chapter 1 players play anymore it’s not so bad, you can’t sell the skins anyway, it’s against their terms of service and use.

Legit, if they made the BATTLE PASS more like the MINI PASSES then we'd have it better, we can unlock this stuff and have a guarantee it'll be in the shop later on, HOWEVER, it is alot cheaper, has maybe an exclusive style or something and obviously comes earlier and more expectedly than it would in the shop

I don’t understand the people who are against the epic battle pass. I mean, a battle pass would be useless if the same skins are in the store. I started playing fortnite during the OG season, so I don’t have an "OG" skin and it doesn’t change anything in my life. People go crazy with pixels, it’s ridiculous.
You just had to play the games and stop putting the blame on epic, if some players players managed to get the skins that you too might have.
At this point it’s just being selfish because some people were probably playing 24/7 and getting the hardest skins out would just be disrespectful to those who have a hard time.

Yeah totally, i actually created my account back in 2018 but never really had the urge to play Fortnite cause i simply was having fun with other games, then somehow i decided to just login in c2s4 (marvel season) and that time i literally only played 1 match-

The anount of rare skins i have i wish i could give to others is an empathic nightmare lol
