Don't forget that some projectors have screen size adjustment options so picking the size of the screen and the distance of the projector won't be so intimidating.

If you already have a powerfull projector you don't need a screen. The only use you have left of a projector screen is looks. If your trying to watch a movie with the lights on and the projector is far from the image then it might be worth it but having the lights on to watch a movie with a projector just doesn't make sense.

​@Chris Majestic would love if you could reply man with some help haha...im having a nightmare here 😂 i got a nebula cosmos max 4k projector and im limted to my wall space width of 2400mm x height standard room height... can i go for a 2.4m x 2.4m 1:1 square screen to gain the full width ? But then lock it out at say 1.5m instead of the full 2.4m or whatever to then get a 16:9 size screen ? Will my projector adjust to that size i then get by getting that custom size ?

is it ok to build a costum drywall screen? my walls are concrete with imperfections, but does it work if I build a dedicated screen with drywall and make it very smooth for a 4k projector?

And here I am with a custom gray painted screen with metallic flecks & polyurethane from Walmart... Cost me 15 dollars, for a whole wall, like 130 inches or so... Been using it for 18 years... It looks really nice as far as anyone who's ever seen it says. Good darks, ok whites. The only problem is I banged it with my VR remote and I don't know how to fix it without redoing the whole wall :( .

Hey Chris…been watching some some time. I’m finally buying a UST projector but it seems the sreeen price has gotten out of control. We have gone from $500-900 to $2300 for a screen!!! This seems rediculous!?!?!?!!

Thank goodness you made this video. I was about to purchase a 100" screen only bc my projector could cast a 100" image. Did not realize due to where this will be permanently sitting, there was something called throw projection, which will have my screen size at roughly 60". I would have had way too much blank screen real-estate. (Thanks for the calculator) Also had never heard of gray screens, or that they were better for contrast on cheaper projectors. I'm getting the Samsung Freestyle so I fall into the 'budget' projector that would likely look better w a gray screen. Thx!

I have a screen 130" diagonal and Epson 5040U, but the 4K movies is with 2 black rows in the top and bottom of the image.. I try to use the Epson options but it is not Zoom out.. wondering if happen to you as well. Gilberto
