REMINDER: Behaviour is a multi million, successful company. They don't need you to white knight them in the comment section, nor they care about you besides as a costumer. So please, if you want to discuss a point or you disagree with anything I said in this video, I accept that as long as you don't disrespect me or anyone else.

The maths behind this video can be found in the description. The number in the thumbnail is the combination of both grinding for all characters, and grinding for all licensed perks. In other words, this is the number behind the phrase: "You can grind for almost everything in the game just by playing" which by the way is impossible with the current Shrine of Secrets.

The game is not strictly Pay 2 Win. I never said as long as you don't have deadlock, you cannot win. I say that Deadlock is a competitive advantage over someone that doesn't have it. If you can win with free perks in high MMR, become a streamer and show the world how good you are and how you don't need Meta perks like Eruption, Call of Brine or Reassurance like the competitive players do.

I don't care that this is a "casual" game. Fortnite is a casual game and there are no gameplay elements locked behind a paywall. In this game, there are. Maybe you can't grind for Ghostface for free, but that doesn't matter because you have The Nurse. But you cannot get The Nurse with Lethal Pursuer, and that is my problem.

Considering the fact that the game has a battle pass, a DLC every three months, plenty of paywalled licensed characters AND PAYWALLED PERKS THAT ALTER THE GAMEPLAY AND ARE META, what is the excuse for having overpriced cosmetics in a PAID game?

Even if the cost to unlock Deadlock was 1 dollar, that doesn't remove the fact that the game is built on Pay 2 Win monetization schemes. Combine this with my past video about limited time cosmetics, and we have a game preying on two scummy monetization tactics.

The game IS UNFAIR for new players. The game IS UNFAIR to casuals. Even if you don't care, it doesn't remove that fact. Yeah the game can be fun without paying, Clash Royale is too. Watching paint dry is also fun with friends.

If you still defend Behaviour even after admitting all of this... I wish you the best on earning that brilliant Fog Whisperer status!

As a russian it's even worse because I'm somewhat willing to swipe the card and get the perks and characters I wanted to play with, but I cannot because I'm evil due to the colour of my passport apparently. I literally can't give them my money even if I really wanted to

20 dollars is not expensive compared to many AAA games today. I don't think most people have a problem spending money on a game they have played for 1000+ hours. The grind is pretty stupid don't get me wrong, but would it really be any different if the game cost 70 dollars like most games and you unlocked all characters by default.

The only thing I can say is online gaming truly has gone to far, games used to be made in love and passion, now they are made to hold your attention for as long as possible just so you can swipe your card. It’s just like you said these multi million dollar companies do not care about us sure a dev or two might but they don’t get to say what truly goes into the game if a corporate fat cat wants a new battlepass system the game will have it

Im not trying to attack you or white knight behaviour. Im well aware they do not care about me except for my money. But to be fair the game frequently goes on sale for £5 and you can get most of the dlcs for £2.50 on sale. Ive spent about 20 quid on the game and have loads of the paid killers and survivors unlocked. I think most people are never going to care about a large amount of the killers and survivors anyway. I have everything I want and ive spent under 25 quid including the game. COD costs like 70 quid now I swear. For most people theyre actually gonna spend way less on dbd than they would another triple a game. The only way youre gonna spend more is if youre an insanely dedicated fan that buys every single thing in the game and I dont know anyone like that. Id rather it stay like this than them increase the base games cost. Way more people are gonna have fun with the game if it stays £15.

If you buy stuff at the right time you can get everything you want really REALLY cheap. Recently they made all killers half the cost. I spent about 12 pounds on auric cells and bought about 6 or 7 licenced killers. All survivors are the same except for perks so you only need a few of those for the perks and can ignore the rest.

I would like to point out this game has been out for years and the game was originally not perk based perks were just a fun little spin to change game play make it repayable and it was for about 3 years of course there were problems games alway do but you are right it's more pay to win now then it use to be but you can't blame the company for having all the pay dlc it's Contract based they can't make them "free" and the grind is much steeper now but that's a product of how long the game has been alive and there is no way to make the grind easy for new players because then the old players would get bored fast take me for example I have every perk if the grind got any easier my grind would go from a month to a few days then all I can do is go up in rank and once you've been red 20 times it loses its magic

He makes some good points but I strongly feel he misses the mark. Winning in Dead by Daylight isn't exactly "winning" per se. Anyone plays this game for any extended period of time knows that if you play to try to escape as a Survivor, or play trying to get Merciless victory as Killer, is going to go insane. Video games innately are a medium of repetitive actions. Whether or not you enjoy those actions is essentially the defining principle for the entertainment value of a game. This why not everyone plays the same games, right? Trying to treat DBD like a regular game and win like it's a Call of Duty game is not the move. You can try and optimize the bloodpoints, but at the end of the day, trying to say the Nurse is the most powerful, so there is only impetus to play the Nurse is a bit preposterous. When you lose sight of the game being a game, that's when new people are gonna have a hard time. You could play other characters for the sake of variety for example. And BHVR does give you options, so it's not totally unfair. At the same token, if they're not motivated by money, how would there be a game in the first place? You can't just sink thousands of hours into a massive project like this out the kindness of your own heart. Just seems like you're tilting at windmills here.

Completely agree with you, it's ridiculous.
I have most of the Killers and about half the Survivors unlocked (I paid for them) and I did the math, to unlock my remaining characters I'd need to spend almost $70. And that's my cheapest option.

Great marketing strategy. If you tell the devs their game is pay to play all they gotta say is its not pay to play because you can get in game currency which takes hundreds to thousands of hours to get the content. I don't have 800 hours to get 1 build to the meta level. Basically, you get punished for not having enough money to buy everything.

I feel like it would make a huuuuge difference if you built up shards faster or it cost way fewer shards to unlock things. I also think you should be able to use shards to get the "bundle" of perks from each licensed character whenever you want, not just through the shrine. That way it'd still be possible to at least earn the perks while the actual licensed character is still paid.
