Sony A80L vs Sony X93L (2023)

Is it me or does the OLED have a real blue tinge to it compared to the Mini LED? Like whites get lost in the cloud scene and the close up of the womans face the colours look off. I actually prefer the picture on the Mini LED in most examples.

I really can’t stand how the OLED makes the sky look so artificially blue. Very disappointing.

Which video was running on the tv's?

Like Vincent Teoh says: The mini led has much better specular highlight detail in bright scenes. However, the OLED has pixel level control with a better HDR experience in a dark viewing environment.

It’s just crazy how for a lot of us with $200-400 TVs, even something like the X90L would be life changing lol

X93L is certainly brighter, but it looks much more 2D and flat in comparison to the OLED. The A80L almost looks 3D and has incredible depth.

Put either in a room, without the other tv next to it, and the viewer will love it !!!!

The OLED is definitely the better Picture. The Mini LED is better in brighter rooms.

As Mini LED as evolved and black levels have improved, I've come to prefer it over Oled these days. They have certainly caught up in recent years to the point where I truly feel they are a legitimate alternative. Mini-LED pop like nothing an OLED can do and the fact you don't have to baby the TV like we do with OLED is enough for me. After much comparison shopping my next TV will be an 85in Sony X93l.

I wonder if the OLED would fair a lot better seeing them together in person.

The cave scene is the only scene that looked better. OLEDS need to address black crush/shadow detail whats the point of perfect blacks and “inf contrast” if you cant see the damn full scene.

Assuming both TVs use similar settings, I also prefer the Mini LED. Especially the scenery with the abandonded house in the sunset/sunrise is far too dark for my taste, when taking a closer look at the OLED's picture.
