is there any other option besides splitting into tables?
I would like my document to consist of two pages side by side. Completely separate pages and the document was enlarging/lengthening downwards.

These are not "independent columns". You are just using breaks. Misleading...

thank you for the video. I am still having problems. When i place insertion point at beginning of where i want the second column to start, it does not break in line with the first column. topic one is one place on the doc and topic two - while it is in a second column - isn't lined up with the first column. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

Can you help
I want to make 2 independent columns for the WHOLE documents. Two, separate, independent columns for the entire document. Is there any way this is possible.

Hi, I have a single document that has a part where I have 2 columns and the rest is single. I got problems with the last contents of the column 1 continued to column 2. I'm thinking the single layer after this column part is the one interfering with keeping the column 1's content just to column 1. For more detailed explanation, Column 1 has 39 words while Column 2 got 21 words only. I hope you can enlighten me. I tried redoing the column part in a new document and it works just fine BUT after doing a next segment as single column, the column 1 do the spread thing in column 2. pls help ><

tl;dr:
1. Layout --> Columns --> Two
2. Layout --> Breaks --> Column

HI there. In your demonstration, let's say that you want News 2 to continue onto the next page while staying on the right hand side, without wrapping back around to the left side. How can this be done? Is it possible to type into the two different columns without one column being affected by the other. I would like to be able to type into column 1, and then click in column 2 and type there also without the 'wrapping'.
