I'm just gonna put my take on the campaign, y'all can ignore it or not.

The "modern" Modern Warfare timeline... is mid. Let me tell you why. MW1 told a story of how brutal war is, and how some decisions may be beneficial in the long run, but you'd have to do some evil in return, and how helpless we are in situations that are out of control.

MW2 tried to follow up on it, with how corrupt the hold of people in power are, how sacrifices would be made to maintain the security of the nation, and how the actions of one individual can set a dangerous precedent for the future.

I tried to do something with this, but if you couldn't tell which timeline I'm talking about, I'm talking about both the OG and the new timeline, they are relatively the same to me.

The original timeline had set itself so much better, even if COD4 was seemingly bland from an average gamer's perspective, aside from Al-Asad, Zakhaev and the killstreak on Afghan, everything else seemed like a generic military movie at the time.

But MW2 really kicked it off, Shepherd and his motives, the "controversial" airport mission, the invasion of Russia, the Favela, the Boneyard, the Gulag, Price's reunion with 141, Ghost's death, and Makarov, key moments that everyone remembers because of how much better the consistency is, how it connects, how the story was told, even if it was from a basic concept such as COD4.

The new timeline though? Ngl, with all the red tape going on, keeping it hush hush, with the breaching, the interrogating, and the "no one knows about this mission" thing, it all sounds like a modern day Mission Impossible movie, and you guys know how those movies turned out, even if it had Tom Cruise, there is nothing that makes it stand out aside from "Le War Bad" and "Le Government Bad".

And because it has a Mission Impossible plot, the villains plan to kill an untold amount of people but didn't work, rogue government agent trying to screw the main characters, and NO ONE DIES, absolutely no stakes what so ever. All so Activision can sell $40 bundles with campaign characters.

Do you know how many characters there are? Price, Soap, Ghost and Gaz, Farah, Alejandro, Rodolfo, Graves (if he survives, which he will). Which will be playable characters in the near future, with tracers, anime skins, and an inconsistent seasonal storyline with limited events spanning over multiple gamemodes, because why the fuck not.

Tl:dr.. mid campaign, creativity is dead, because Activision wants to steal our wallets.

I started the campaign in the hardest difficulty because I'm "cool like that". Honestly the hardest mw campaign so far. Be careful though cause you don't wanna get stuck in a death loop checkpoint

The shadow scene with him saying that Alejandro and his men are their brothers now gave me chills. Amazing voice acting and visual affirmations.

Edit: It kinda feels like handler is a noob when it comes to the campaign. yeah his shots are on point, but he doesn't seem to be like quick with progression and understanding what's going on in the campaign.

I don't understand why games tend to elect to have people in the game be able to withstand like 15-20 bullets. It really dulls the actual effectiveness of these weapons and honestly feels like a waste of ammo. On the TTK alone I do not regret skipping the most recent 2 call of duties
