The blowing of things up😊
ОтветитьGreat interview, I saw Brad lead his band in high school and competed w them at various battle of the bands. He was and is great.
ОтветитьJoe Perry plays with raw abandon and a more open, cleaner sorta tone and he definitely conjures up majestic peaks of absolute brilliance - among a lot of repetitive and derivative stuff. I do love Joe Perry’s playing, but I personally always preferred Brad’s tone and could hear that he was the more advanced player harmonically. The solo in Last Child is an example and also Back In The Saddle….and I think what Joe Perry did on the ride out of No More, No More is one of his conjurings of amazement.
ОтветитьBRAD IS MORE POLLISHED GUITARIST BUT JOE HAS THAT DRIVE POWER BOTH GREAT 🎸 GUITARIST
ОтветитьDam good guitarist
ОтветитьYes. Brad has turned into my fav member of Aerosmith
ОтветитьI looked so forward to listening to Honkin on bobo..but it so noisy and busy its hard to handle...
ОтветитьDo a "no hits" mini tour in smaller venues and record it.
ОтветитьBrad isn't as sloppy as Joe 😉
ОтветитьHappy 70th Birthday Brad <3
ОтветитьI’m a lifelong Aerosmith fan and Brad Whitford has always been my favorite guitarist. This is, by far, the best interview I’ve had the pleasure of viewing. Many many thanks to Joe for posting. You’ve made an old member of the Blue Army quite happy in these tenuous times!
ОтветитьFavorite song? Seasons of Wither. What a great band.
ОтветитьThis cat was always my most favorite band member in that band. Underrated in my opinion.
ОтветитьOne concert ( Louisville , Kentucky ) that I will never forget was Aerosmith on their Rocks tour with Nazareth when Hair of the Dog came out....HOLY SH!T !!! Not only was it the LOUDEST show I ever saw . It was like both bands were competing with each other and only the A game would do. Later I see that Dream On was recorded there ( they announced it would be ) for Live Bootleg !
ОтветитьJoe ...export case...???? Joe probably all ready made Brad a offer lol
ОтветитьMan, I love that solo on Last Child! Thanks Joe for having Brad on!
ОтветитьJustin Tyme!?!?!?! Didn't every scene have a band called that?
Or The Swinging Johnsons (Honorable Mention)
thanks Joe for featuring a highly under rated pioneer
ОтветитьWOW! Part of Aerosmith! Very interesting interview! And nice cover photo!
Ответитьgreat interview Joe! sad that Aerosmith might not perform live anymore... I hope you get the rest of the band on your show soon!
ОтветитьYeah, proud papa there. Good person. Met him a number of times back in the day. 🎸💖
ОтветитьBeen an Aerosmith fan for 30 years, and I dont think i've seen more than 10 Brad interviews ever. Joe is honoured indeed...
ОтветитьWhy did Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter play guitars on "Train keeps a rollin'...just wondered?
ОтветитьI loved Aerosmith growing up and it's strange how close they were to us in the mid 80s. They rented a rehearsal space a short walk from my grandparents' condo. At the time, I was about 8 years old and had no idea that the band whose music I loved was working just down the street while I was sitting in my grandfather's living room watching Tom & Jerry and eating Trix Cereal.
Also, Brad's son Graham plays guitar in a really cool band called Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown. They're worth a listen!
Joe, when Brad said he could play a Strat, Tele or Les Paul into a JTM 45 and get the same sound without making any adjustments, you should have followed up and asked him how he does that.
ОтветитьWow he aged so much father time
ОтветитьHere's an ole tidbit...Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner played the solos on Train Kept A Rollin...
ОтветитьBrad seems a lovely man. Although, i imagine being in a band with steven tyler for 50 years must be a tough call.. i've always loved the story about them changing their set list back in the big coke and smack days, putting their second encore as the new set opener , the story ( urban myth ?!) Goes that they played the song and left the stage , thanking the audience for coming and wishing them goodnight !!!? Probably not true , but i really hope it is !
ОтветитьStellar interview of Brad Whitford. Saw Areosmith back in '78, 79, '88. Always felt Brad was underrated as a solid guitarist/musician. Love how you asked Brad about the recording standards back in the '70s. Still personally enjoy real live tracking, mixing. There's a special magical vibe with the old school style mixing with modern day recording gear. Cheers to your channel.
ОтветитьKocham Brada! Jest taki niedoceniany! Wiele z solówek Aerosmith to Brad. Wszyscy myślą, że to Joe Perry.
ОтветитьThanks again Joe.! Just awesome stuff. Much love to my Heroes !!!
ОтветитьGotta love this very under rated guitarist. He gave us some very good lead guitar solos in many Aerosmith songs that many people don't even know about. Cheers to Brad Whitford!
ОтветитьI always found it strange that Aerosmith the band is sold to the public as Joe Perry being "the" guitarist when in reality its Whitford. Not saying Perry is sub par, but Whitford is the guy.
ОтветитьWhen I saw Aerosmith I was astonished at how many of the classic solos were done by Brad.
ОтветитьBrad looks so good.. I cant imagine never seeing them live again though.. like im crying even thinking that.. thankfully i've met them all, have all their signatures tattooed on my back, and have filled my bucket list many times over with amazing concerts.
ОтветитьDamn he is so old. Aerosmith must stop. Or soon whole show will be on tape like Kiss and Ozzy. They probably already using recorded tracks for last several years.
ОтветитьAs much as I love Brad’s playing, Joe Perry has saved my life so many times. I met him when I was 13 years old in Boston and he was so humble, kind, and patient (as I was a hot mess). It saddens me to see comments of people having not so great experiences meeting Joe but I can tell you that the 70s, early 80s, and 90s were not very good times for him if you know anything about him or have read his book.
ОтветитьDespite all the fame, Brad is such a modest and humble guy. ❤😊😊😎
ОтветитьDude get Eric Clapton on! Get Ayla Tesler Mabe, an up and coming guitarist
ОтветитьIn some sense these guys connecting here represents a torch passing element that is touching and cool to consider.... you know joe has great respect, listen to the tone in his voice.....
ОтветитьAlways a great interview with Joe leading the conversation. You hear stories that never have been told before. Awesome!! Always been a fan Brad. Thanks Joe for taking on this venture of bringing our rock heroes to us in a average guy kind of atmosphere. I hope that made sense.
ОтветитьAwesome, Bad boys from BOSTON! I grew up in Beantown aka Boston and as a teenager in the 80’s we always had Aerosmith blasting out of the boom box….while hanging on the street corner! Many times Aerosmith played at the Boston Garden on New Years, special memories for sure! One time we were told they were practicing in Somerville in a basement off of Somerville Ave, we walked by but I can’t remember anything else about it I grew up in Somerville and I know and heard the band practiced in Marshfield as well, 🙏🏻👍🏻❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻🎵🎶🎸🎸🎸
ОтветитьMaybe how Brad looks back at Clapton or whatever, I keep going back to those early Aerosmith records and they blow my mind now more than ever. Big thank you to Brad and the band. Thanks so much to both of you for sharing your time and passion with us. :)
ОтветитьI've met Brad before, he's incredibly nice, humble, knows so much about gear, and he's even better at guitar than he lets on.
I've also met Joe Perry, and could not in good faith say the same.
Joe, get Brian Setzer on here!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThe last time I saw Aerosmith was December 6th 1987 in the Saginaw MI civic center. Frehleys Comet opened the show. Amazing show. Thank you Mr. Whitford and thanks to you too Joe Bonamassaa.
ОтветитьGreat interview, plus you increased the font size on the thumbnail so it’s now readable! Well done!
ОтветитьI’m jonesing for the definitive, fully authorized, Aerosmith documentary.
Ответить🍀🖤🍀🤍
