It’s not necessary to take the iron out after each curl. If you turn it the iron 180 degrees the first time you can slide it all the way down the strand and it will curl the whole length. (Hairdresser here) I mean no disrespect to the poster. Just seems like a lot of extra unnecessary work.

Who tf is going to be able to do that on their own hair?? Because we all have eyes in the back of our heads and our wrists will bend at an alien like angle. FFS.
I have so much hair that is very thick and coarse that it would be impossible for me to do by myself. Or it’d take me at the very least an hour to 90 minutes just to section it out and do 3 turns for every section, let alone spray each section with hair spray and use fingers to open up the curls.
