I successfully did extending the volume till 5TB with the steps mentioned in video on Windows server 2003 32 bit version.

Sometimes customer may need a large size volume to store archive data or logs. We can recommend to convert the disk from MBR to GPT to support more space. When having a large size volume the performance may not be good.

If you want to convert the existing MBR disk to GPT then make sure that you have deleted all volumes present into the disk. Dont forget to take backup of your data before deleting the volumes and take backup of Volume ID and drive name.

For backup, I recommend File level Full backup because here we are converting the disk from MBR to GPT so if we take Block level backup it may not restore successfully.

Note: We cannot install OS on GPT disk. So try converting to MBR and install the OS.
