My son has just sprung on me that he'd like a gaming pc for Christmas. I'm looking at two pre-builds. Ryzen 5 5500 + RX6700 XT or Ryzen 7 5700X + RTX 4060 Ti. Which option is best?
Ответитьthis is rough I'm seeing 3080's second hand almost $100USD cheaper and far out-preforming of course. the 40 series doesnt seem to be worth unless you are just making a money is no object type build, are buying pre-built or have extreme pro work to be done on the pc.
ОтветитьI find it disingenuous to run the games at ultra settings on midrange card. You don’t knock a ford escort for not outracing a Mustang. Reviewers need to look at the GPUs as how well they fit their niche, not how well they perform compared to the pinnacle of existence. Imagine if the burger flipper at the local McD’s rated his worth compared to the income of Bill Gates?
Ответитьthat cyberpunk footage 🤣, the bugs never get old. most buggy game at launch in history.
Ответитьso power consumption is the real deal here
ОтветитьHow is the 16GB version of 4060 Ti vs 8GB version?
ОтветитьThe only real wow of the 40 series is the power consumption so unless you are rocking a 9 series card then, maybe, the 4060 is worth a look but certainly not this irrelevance. Intel and AMD have another open goal here.
ОтветитьI have a 3080 Ti for gaming and just ordered a 4060 Ti for streaming and transcoding video to AV1. I figure as large as my library of videos are (and growing) the price of the RTX 4060 Ti despite the 8GB of VRAM and power efficiency should be good. I can transcode and save on hard drive space and also store media on faster mediums so lower cost for storage and faster access to those files. Let me know if you think thats forward thinking and backward thinking? I know spinning drives are pretty affordable and high capacity these days.
Ответить1080 resolution should be abolished into technology history. 2023 low end graphics cards specification standards should incorporate minimum 2k 2560 x 1440P, 60+ FPS, 16Gb GDDR6, 256bit memory bus, PCIE x16, HDMI 2.1 and cost £250 minimum. 8Gb of graphics RAM is pathetic especially with snail 128bit RAM bus width speeds. The whole damn graphics industry is pathetic, that included all 2023 screen/monitor technologies also with exorbitant pricing.
ОтветитьThere's zero reason now to buy "low end" cards. If you have the money, always get a higher end card and take the hit to your wallet. If you don't, the PS5 or Series X are the no brainer. The PS5 literally costs the same as this sad excuse for a card and you get everything plus some exclusives the rest of us PC gamers will likely not see ever or for awhile.
ОтветитьThis should cost $300 if not below it feels more like a 50 series card than 60
ОтветитьSeems like its a "3060 Ti Ti" or "3060 Ti Super"
Ответитьdamn...nvidia did a ps5 performance card...but if nvidia did console, they would cost double.
ОтветитьThey should have made the 4060 ti a 12g card and given the 16g option to the 4070 or 4070 ti
ОтветитьHardly any reviewers are addressing the PCI 3.0 issue also - people buying these cheaper cards are likely to have an older system - where performance will tank and comparisons to a card like the 2060 super will be less favourable. Nvidia are such a holes - they make a fantastic architecture with 4000 series but hamper it with lower cut down vram to boost their profit margins and push people to buy the more expensive cards where they make a higher margin. The 3060ti had 256GB/s vram - whilst the 4060ti has lesser chips and barely outperforms it..I really hope no one buys these sham cards..and Nvidia learns the lesson
ОтветитьIt's too bad that the 4060ti isn't a cost-effective card. Perhaps with stronger driver support and a lower price point it will find more of an audience. As it stands, it looks like a card not worth purchasing
ОтветитьThis Shows BIGGER (Memory) Means Better, lol I Still Own A GTX 1080TI 11MB And LOOVE IT!
Ps What's The UPGRADE Folkes, I Would Apricate Your Answers!:)
PS WHY DOES GTX 1080TI HAVE 11MB OVER 5YS AGO?
Hence proved 4060Ti is basically a 4050Ti with a hefty price tag
ОтветитьGo team Blue!
ОтветитьGot El Jefe delivering the deets.
ОтветитьI shall stick to my 3080 Ti for a few more years.
ОтветитьPower efficiency isn't impressive - it's exactly what you should expect from a 4050. So is the performance. So is the die size. So is the memory bandwidth and capacity. Just not the name and price.
ОтветитьI really, really hope Intel with put a sock up in Nvidias face, when they release next ARC GPUs. Can't support Nvidia anymore. Sure, they have the driver support like no other. But, this is simply just ridiculous.
ОтветитьI'm still using a GTX 680, I think even doe this gpu sucks, it will be a nice upgrade.
ОтветитьI'm perfectly happy with my RTX 3060 with 12GB VRAM thanks lol
ОтветитьHow much do cost a ps5 ? 😅😉
ОтветитьCan we just appreciate the xbox series s for the price .omg that consol is cheap
ОтветитьCan't imagine being poor enough that i have to buy a 3060ti, or an 8 GB cpu, sends a shudder down my spine. And lets not even mention the AMD ...cards
Ответитьnow i dont feel that bad for paying $400 for a 5700xt 2 years ago, ty nvidia
ОтветитьMy problem isn't necesssarily with the 8GB cards tbh, my problem is that games medium or low texture settings looks worse than something on a PS2 or PS3. That's unacceptable. I either get pristine 4K textures, or mud soup, with nothing in between. What a joke.
ОтветитьThe "fix" is nvidia next architecture of an entire soc card with a unified memory pool. The problem is unified architecture (consoles, phones, etc) having more noticeable advantages now. Its coming time to separate productivity machines from gaming and related tasks like ml.
Thats why a 4090 didn't fix the problem either. Directstorage would be implemented if it were the real problem and fix, and Nvidia wouldnt have abandoned RTX IO. Its purely architecture. Think about porting memory addressing from unified architecture, now think about how those problems would manifest on pc architecture if it was a brute force situation... bam.
I think it's simple, if they weren't shipping as little as possible for as high a price as possible, their stock wouldn't be at the highest it's ever been. We can only hope consumers are informed enough to avoid flawed releases like this.
Ответить3080 TI is still the King with 384 BITS of raw Power and 10000 plus Cores !
ОтветитьWHAT A Bunch of trash its only a lump of Coal nvidia have openly misled the public.
Ответитьpower difference is nice but its obvious that the 5xxx series is what you should wait for instead
Ответить4060 Totally Idiotic
Ответитьget a 6800xt second hand for less its about 40% faster with 16gb vram or a 3080
Ответить😂8g 4060 Ti, nobody buy. Nivida is in Tears again. Treat gamer like moskitdo again😅
ОтветитьThe more you buy, the more you Shave 😂
ОтветитьRay tracing performance is not good enough.
Ответитьits hilarious that nvidia is now marketing 4060Ti as a 1080p card when nearly 5 years ago, they were advertising their 2080Ti Turing card which is around the 4060Ti performance level as a 4k card.
Same thing in the Ampere generation, the equivalent of the 4060Ti and 2080Ti was the 3070 in terms of performance and that was never advertised as a 1080p card.
Even the title of the review is brutal. In all honesty, Intel starts looking like a good idea for 1080p. Especially after their recent price drop.
Ответитьgood thing ive stayed with 1060, the market right now is abyssmal..
ОтветитьWith 16gb Ram this would be a cool $349 4060
ОтветитьNvidia be like, use DLSS 3 for the performance uplift, problem solved?
Nvidia is using up scaling tech like DLSS 3 to market their products now, I am sure they can bring DLSS 3 to the 3000 series as well but they won't do that on purpose.
The 4000 series is a glorified GPU that you pay premium for DLSS 3.
Same price but better performance. What more do you want? Plus it uses less power.
ОтветитьOof, we 'll wait for 5060 ti I guess...
ОтветитьThe fact that a GTX1070 even is on the comparison is an indictment all on its own
Ответить
