ATEM MINI PRO ISO: How to get the HIGHEST recording quality

Hey ya'll, so I say megabytes quite a lot in this video, but I actually mean megabits (which are 1/8th of a megabytes). So each Hyperdeck High recording is up to 70mb/s (megabits), and so you'll want to make sure the write speed of your drive is capable of doing 400 mb/s (or at least 50MB/s aka megabytes). Sorry for any confusion caused... I feel like a right donut for getting me megabits and megabytes mixed :)

I have a big problem with the ATEM iso extreme. We use it for our podcast studio, and we record straight through it to a SSD T7 drive. After a year and a half of no problems, it (ATEM iso Extreme) started randomly NOT RECORDING anything to our hard drives. This is horrible for our clients, and I can't seem to get an answer anywhere, as I'm not sure anyone is having this issue.

We use the SanDisk 4TB and Samgsung T7 too. They always worked fine.. but now this issue. So we bought a NEW extreme iso ATEM, and it worked great for a month, and it just happened again today for a client. 45 minute podcast recording.. and nothing was there when we plugged it into the computer. Vanished. No trace of it.

We can't seem to figure out if it's a cord, HD or the BM device issue?? We don't want to record internally to the cameras (we can as a backup but our business turns projects out very fast so that would never work for our business model long term).

If anybody has any insights that would be great.

I'm struggling a bit. My ISO recordings are only producing a maximum of 1080 despite having 4k BMPCC. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Can i just use this to record my phones display using a hdmi adapter plugged into the hdmi in on the yolo box...not interested in streaming just recording my favorite shows off my phone

We are having an issue with black bars around our picture in preview with Atem mini pro iso, we are using 2 canon rebel t6 cameras, any way to remove the bars and get full-screen with these cameras?

Is there a way to choose which inputs to record, if I'm not using certain ones? Also, can I record individual audio from each video input even if it's muted?

Hello can someone please help me? I'm having troubles understanding camera setup for the mini pro. I have a sony A7c and A7iv connected to the atem mini pro, works great. But now my issue is the a7iv is recording the not only the image, but the camera Huds also, and how to get rid of the black bars on the camera display its recording a black square outline also

Have you ever experienced a flashing red record while using the Sandisk drives? As i undertsand it's the "it the can't write fast enough" message. I've had this a few times now for no obvious reason. I've got the ATEM SDI mini Pro ISO and shows it should have 4 hrs of recording time on my 1tb drive even with ISO enabled and then it flashes red and drops frames from the recording.

I keep getting the zebras and other data from my camera burnt into the recorded files. how do I get rid of these?

Thanks for this. Can I ask, do you recommend using, a Rode Podcaster Pro ll with the ATEM mini ISO if you are wanting to do both video and podcast recordings. Also, I’m trying to record and edit live as much as possible so post is very easy. Basically, can I achieve this with just the ATEM mini ISO or do I also need the Rode Podcaster Pro ll? Cheers!!!

When I try to record on three cameras (Sony a6400) in 4k whilst using the ATEM purely as means to view the three camera inputs on one screen (monitor) an error message appears on each camera - "Writing to the memory card was not completed correctly." Why?

My heart skipped a beat where i have to film 5 hours worth of content, so when i done the calculations i thought i'd need 7.2 TB of storage data - Turns out i only need 0.8 TB 🤣🤣🤣Thanks for the video though, this really helped! i've subbed to your channel, keep up the good work!

Hi Alex. Not related to this video, but can I ask what is the best format to record ISO feeds? The reason for asking is when I record on a drive in ex Fat with existing content on the drive, when I view the drive on the Mac the recordings are often not displayed. I have to use disc drill to then locate them. I am probably doing something wrong so any guidance is useful.

So if all you're doing is recording footage to the SSD (sort of to get a rough cut of an event/presentation video), do you still need a laptop and the ATEM software?

Looking to try this with my churches sermon recordings. We're not live streaming right now, but it would be nice to basically live edit the sermon recording, and fine tune it later before uploading.

How long can you record with a 1TB SanDisk SSD? With the mini pro?

Thanks for these explanations. I just got my ATEM Mini Pro ISO and I'm still confused tho... Even thought I set my livestream to hyperdeck High, my program output is only 9.9 Mbit/s and my ISO recording is 27 Mbit/s. Shouldn't I get between 45 to 70 Mbit/s for my ISOs ? Am I missing something ? Thanks !

Nice 1, if you have an iso model, is there any real need to use an external recorder what are tha advantages/disadvantages of both options?

Hi Alex, Thanks for your content on these pieces of Hardware. I wondered if you could answer my questions. I have a Pro Iso, I am using a Ursa Mini Pro G1, and three Panasonic GX80's to record. The Usra is Cam 1. The ISO file size of Cam 1 is around five times smaller than the others ISO Cam's. It's also the front-facing camera with the least amount of movement in it. Would that affect the file size? it seems a very significant difference. Thanks in advance.

Is there an option not to record ISO on the ISO? Sounds strange but what if you just want program output to a fast thumb drive?

For an hour long recording with two cameras, how much files are you usually getting? Not sure how to compute it. Hope you can enlighten me how to compute it or share how much storage are you filling up per one hour livestream with your sandisk SSD.

so kinda old - but curious about how much film time 1tb would be with 4+1=5 recordings at 1080p60 on all? trying to get an idea of size requirements for my longer streams. Thanks
