This is fantastic. Stumbled across this clip and can't wait to watch the full podcast. I love movement talks and anything that brings more awareness to the miracle of one's body.
ОтветитьFascinating stuff, and it looks really fun. Looks like it has a strong element of play to it. We are, as a society, likely play deficient.
ОтветитьLol... and the point of these silly movements are what exactly? To get in contact with your nervous system?? :))
Of course Ido has expanded on these useless moves. Its his business. He needs to make money from this.
Fascinating
ОтветитьJust foundthis vdieo ty for this
ОтветитьHe might have created some new mostly calisthenics program and then re-branded it as "the movement culture". But the way he's almost created a cult around him is odd and the prices he charges are ridiculous along with the pseudo-scientific theories he's constantly espousing
ОтветитьHe’s a genius.
ОтветитьThis breaking bad remake looks godawful.🤡
ОтветитьAs always, interesting!
I would like to add some input.
In your model, I would change cardio for energy systems. Cardio seems limited to the oxidative energy system and, in my opinion, we can't be good movers nor athletes without addressing the other 2 anaerobic energy systems.
What do you think?
Ido Portal certainly did NOT invent or even expand on any movement material that the dancers at the erstwhile Ballet Frankfurt didn't use in their creative processes. This kind of movement-connectivity and the application of different movement training to movement awareness, ( Including neuro-science research as well as Yogic principles and Gymnastic training etc) has already been well used in the mid 80's. Ido Portal seems to have jumped on the wagon that us the dancers of William Forsythe and the Ballet Frankfurt invented and pioneered. Clearly he's made a good marketing strike with it, but the actual invention and also deep research has been done well before him. We have created a system of dancer training called the Forsythe Improvisational Methodologies that was mainly taught to new dancers. Clearly the influence of this and the available info has filtered down to Ido Portal, who seems to claim that he's brought these diverse methods together. This is certainly not the case.. although he might have made his version of some kind of training, I'd love to see credit given where credit is due... not to dismiss Ido Portal knowledge, but ALL of the above material had been well researched and used right before Ido Portal appeared on the scene. On another note.. watching his videos... I'm pretty sure I can teach a thing or two to Ido Portal , however self assured that may sound here. Marketing genius he is .. but for genuine and authentic movement training I can do better. Calling him the Worlds foremost expert on human movement... is a bit of a stretch, I'd say. There are plenty of us that can match his knowledge and possibly exceed it...If you don't believe me... just meet a few well trained dancers... and you'll see.
Ответитьis naudi aguilar uses the principles of ido portal or vice versa on functional patterns?
ОтветитьI know Kung Fu Shaolin movements and these here are such a joke.
ОтветитьWtf was that at the end 🤨
Ответитьincredible stuff would love more
ОтветитьHilarious
ОтветитьBig greetings and love for the whole Ido Movement Ninja Colective from the @acupresboards Ninja Familia ☀️❤✊
ОтветитьConor Mcgregor : I train with the best
Nate Diaz : playing touch butt with the ponytail guy ( Ido Portal) in the park? I don’t think so
Scrolled down the comment section to see if there is any MMA or Conor Mcgregor reference. None!
This is sex cult initiation stuff.
ОтветитьNow show ido how to kickflip!
ОтветитьDid you speak about martial arts? Does he practice any?
ОтветитьThis sounds like yoga for Joe Rogan fans
ОтветитьNot my words or opinion. But is this the “dork” that Nate Diaz said that Connor McGregor was playing “ touch butt in the park” with? 😂
Ответить"Playing touch butt with that dude in the park" - 🐐
ОтветитьSo you do have legs!
ОтветитьAbout your comment about doing new movements and the body having those movements pre-recorded...
I highly encourage you to look into dynimacs systems theory of motor control :)
It basically states that the body has no "pre-programmed" movements, it rather creates a new tailor-made motor pattern for every time you move
The man who formed Conor into a fluid monster.
ОтветитьWonderful collab! 🔥🔥👏🏽
ОтветитьThe problem with us grownups, is that we stop moving as the younger do, and also, stop sleeping like youngsters. Just, keep moving like if you where young, same free movement and with lots of energy. That's it!
Ответитьthis guy is not the nicest. The movement culture has a ton of toxicity in it lol. Can’t exile someone from movement…
ОтветитьBlack and white...
Ответитьdone
ОтветитьPresence in the body is one of the greatest feelings in being alive. This looks to lead away from unconscious activity and bring vitality and intentional awareness to a creative sense of balance and spontaneous responsiveness. Beautiful!💐
ОтветитьI love that it's in black and white ^^
ОтветитьIt's nice to see Steven Seagal's teachings be passed down for future generations.
ОтветитьThis seams to be what dad would or could do to play or teach their toddlers to play.
Ответитьajajajajajajajajaajajajajaj
ОтветитьIts basically rebranded principles of tai chi
ОтветитьYeah...this is some serious woo-woo, crystal healing style B.S.
Huberman is usually a data focused researcher...not sure why he abandoned those principles here.
Ido isn't a scientist he's a mentalist.
Don't get glamoured by him.
What a load of bollix
ОтветитьI am surprised that they are wearing shoes and are not barefoot..😮
ОтветитьAlso known as the guy playing "touchbutt in the park" lol I had to sorry guys.
ОтветитьI really respect Dr Andrew Huberman because he's not just a scientist with vast knowledge, but he really lives the good advice and keeps a genuinely open mind (something many scientists are seemingly lacking in modern times). I see him as like a 21st century renaissance man with an admirably impressive humility. I think he is undeniably a role model for modern man in search of life's questions. It's very difficult to embody Übermensch whilst being incredibly likable. If you are a great guy like Andrew you could easily (and quite fairly) become self satisfied; but the man is totally non-egoic and seems genuine with it unlike some people who are secretly smug and feign self deprecation but their ego shines through the facade.
Always a pleasure to watch / listen to his podcasts and interviews! He inspires me to try to better myself, and along with Dr Jordan Peterson's advice to "compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today" I think it's gradually working. Thank you.
Man I feel this, when I'm done my Muay Thai classes, I feel so on the ball, practicing motions as well as the mind listening to combos being called and translating it to punches and kicks
ОтветитьAndrew out here playing touch butt with that dork in the park. 😂
ОтветитьWhen I was doing karate training I would have moments after training when I experienced an out-of-body view of myself while walking. I became a lot more aware of body position and center-of-gravity. This awareness puts you very much in the moment.
Ответитьdissapointed with this video. I feel like someone is trying to sell me something, there's a lot of teasing (we did this and that and it was great) without any actionable advice
ОтветитьAndrew, when are you gonna wear a short sleeve shirt and show off those gorgeous guns of yours?
ОтветитьTaijutsu
ОтветитьWow this is great. Thank you Ido and Andrew for this special inside view of what is important for a human: MOVEMENT.
