Try the 17 WSM
ОтветитьTry the 17 WSM
Ответить22 mag all day
ОтветитьThat's with a Bushnell 4x10 scope 😊
ОтветитьI have a CZ512 in 22mag. It does very well at 100 yards 1" group.😮
ОтветитьI understand that the .22 mag didn’t expand and yes it should have but it still did more damage and of course more penetration because of it not expanding.
ОтветитьShould of put the 17 hmr up against the 5.7x28mm with same vmax rds. I got the fn5.7 and always thought it was so much like that 17 would just like to see how close they really are.
ОтветитьRemington cyclone 👍👍 as well as Remington yellow jacket hyper velosity 👍 have always loved both,,, hard to find now a days,,,, and 22 mag try speer/ Hornady TNT, bullets
ОтветитьOh, and another thing, Chicken Sign & Rooster Crowing much appreciated.
ОтветитьRemington also makes a poly tiped bullet for hunting,,, I also r move the poly tip from them
ОтветитьIv experimented with the 22 mag, vmax,,,, I don't like em,,, not hot enough for a poly tip,,,, iv taken a few, removed the poly tip,,, and they perform much better
ОтветитьGreat tech tip for Go Pro. Thanks,
ОтветитьVery interesting video. I just watched the same ammo tested on a different channel using plastic water filled bottles where the 17hmr stopped and exploded in the 1st while the 22wmr stopped in no.4 with the front hollow point part completely gone, destroyed. So full expansion.
ОтветитьAm I missing something here??? Everyone keeps saying that the 22 mag didn't expand. But it did expand. That's why it only went 6 inches and not 15. Whatever varmint you shoot with the 22 mag, it is going to take the full energy of that bullet because there's no exit wound.
ОтветитьI know it's been a while but I actually use the 22mag. Round and do get some expansion. However @ roughly 50 yards, maybe the velocity has fallen off to much. Anyways great video first time I've seen it 2024.
ОтветитьI shot the 30gr V-Max 22wmr at a milk jug of water at 100 yds and it exploded in the jug like a grenade. fragments came out of all sides of the jug. I did this on 2 milk jugs
ОтветитьThis isn’t even accurate the speed on the 17 try using a fmj tip instead of exploding tips… 22 mag won’t punch 1/4 steel or flak jackets, the fmj 17 will
ОтветитьYour shooting match ammo try the 22 mag varmint and retest.
ОтветитьNo loser just different tools with similar results, 22 mag for the penetration, but I’ve skinned out badger after a 17hmr hit and it was like a mini grenade went off in there, tons of pieces. I guess shot placement will always be the checkmate in this debate.
ОтветитьWhy don't you do a comparison against a 17 mag?
The w s m
Water test to see if it expands
ОтветитьGet rid of the plastic tip and cut x in the lead in the 22 mag.
ОтветитьNeed to use the 40grain hollow point in the 22 magnum and you'll see a different result far as expansion it's much different
Ответитьu should do .17 wsm vs 22 wmr..............
ОтветитьI'm thinking the .22 Mag, won't expand in the jell. It's too soft.
But if you had something like... a piece of cardboard, for the bullet to hit in the travel, you might get a better expansion from the bullets.
I was never all that impressed by the CCI Stingers. I thought it was just a marketing thing.
The CCI "Mini Mag," was a really good performer. Took out a lot of groundhogs with mini mags.
I will take the 22 mag anyday i had one when they came out in 1959 i was 13 years old the biggest problem then was the outrageous price of the shells 2.40 a box .22 lr back then were .39 centsa box
ОтветитьFmj .17 are impressive
ОтветитьWonder how a 40gr 22mag HP would compare? Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьI have to say this about that. If you're looking for expansion in your 22wmr use Spear gold dot every time.
ОтветитьThe .22 mag will always win this. Expansion isn't everything. Penitration is much more important.
ОтветитьShooting at targets less than a 100 yards, used the .22 magnum. More than 100 yards use the .17HMR
Ответить.17 well on foxes,wild cats,rabbits.
Ответить22mg is my to go for hunting, I've seen hunters take down a buck with a 22mg and 22LR
Ответить22 mag penetrates further. Its more powerful
ОтветитьMust be the jell.
I've shot several foxes, groundhogs, and raccoons with the V-max. I've yet to have a pass through. They literally blew up like the 17 did in this test.
Everytime i shoot 22 v max in water it expands, that’s interesting
ОтветитьYeah no expexpansion because of the bullet your using. Hornady is very inconsistent. I had 22 mag bullet come out case just feeding to the chamber. Don't cart for Hornady. They may make some good bullet but not interested. Stick with stuff that works like nosler speer or federal premium.
ОтветитьA good ole boy and his attack chickens.
ОтветитьFor anything bigger than a fox squirrel or jack rabbit I’d be shooting a single shot 223 so 22 mag for the smaller vermin and food !
Ответитьbeen shooting CCI stingers forever. When I can find em, I buy em.
ОтветитьI have missed your videos the first i saw of your was federal flite control out of different chokes and distances i love the shotgun videos as the 12ga is my choice for hunting i live in Trinidad so a shotgun will take all game here...deer ,hog, agouti, lappe.
Ответитьthanx for doing the demo...
those 30gr v-max prolly have the same jacket Hornady uses for center fires.... a 223 could pump those out at 3400-4000 fps ... a 22-250 could push them past 4400fps ... at those velocities they'll blow apart in the gel too... maybe before they get to the gel...
Semi auto .22 has less power than a bolt gun
ОтветитьTry the CCI TNT
Ответить22 mag = meat hunting
17. Hmr = pest control
I’ll take the 22 magnum any day over the 17
Ответитьso the 22 long shoots as good as the 22 mag..
ОтветитьThe 22 mag is designed to work within 50 yards, 75 tops. Inside of that range, it works well. The 17HMR is designed to work within 125 yards, 150 tops. Inside of 75 yards, the 17 HMR over expands so much that the penetration is very shallow. Just test them and see what I mean.
ОтветитьThanks for the video. Love the shirt. fellow Appalachian American 🇺🇸 here!
