One of the best fantasy series ever written completely butchered and altered to the point of ridicule. Amazon should feel ashamed of this. Was so looking forward to 12 or 13 seasons instead this shit will die by season 3 hopefully.

Bold of him to assume any book fans will be watching. It's such a terrible adaptation, and I can't see many sticking around. I got about 5 minutes into the 2nd episode and turned it off. Making Rand as argumentative and unlikable as Nynaeve was a terrible choice. Actually, all of it was terrible.

I'm currently on book 6 of The Wheel of Time and have been wondering if I should watch the tv show. But thanks to this video I now know I DEFINITELY don't want to watch a massacre of the brilliant books. So thank you for me not wasting my time and getting ticked off about them butchering the books.

Fan boys are extremely annoying. A show cannot adapt a book faithfully. They are two different types of art, they follow different rules. And a show also meets market rules. If you want to see TWoT on screen, you must understand that.

Just a piss poor adaptation. They used the characters, but pretty much abandoned the story. It certainly was diverse though, and that's what really matters.

I didn't watch season 2, I just had to stop watching in the first episode when Nynaeve was training with the Warders. It was just the stone that broke the axle. They're raping the books (that choice of words comes from the books changing my life. Obviously I don't want to belittle rape). They're changing so much without cause and handle changes that are understandable (making Egwene a potential Ta'veren, giving the women more scenes to shine in the first books, etc.) so ineptly.
But from having seen only the first season, the scene I would have wanted included would be Rand doing his thing at the Eye. Megalomaniac magic use without intending to, his conversation with Ba'alzamon and with Aginor and all the allusions to the AoL.
Runner-ups are Perrin doing more than grunting when the wolf comes over him, Padan Fain being not toothless (it's fine if he is not as slow starting as in the books, but what they did was just lame), having more characterisation (especially in the Two Rivers), Lan being the mountain of a man he is in the books instead of some random dude and, last but certainly not least, NOT DEFANGING JUST ABOUT ANY AWESOME SCENE... WTF!

They should rename it “The Woke of Time”

It seems like the writer for the tv show is absolutely determined to ruin the books and the true story with utter trash to try to convince people not to read the book

The show isn’t even close to the books and at the end it will be nothing like the books. They cut Rands heroes journey to nothing to focus on the female characters. I am still thinking that a female character will be the dragon at the end of this series.

The fact this piece of shit masquerading as a show was ever made. Also Perrin didn't kill his wife, who never existed in the books, in episode 1. He killed his wife and baby by literally putting an axe through his wife's pregnant belly and cut his baby in half

Did not watch this because 10 is 10 times not enough. This travesty of a show is so bad, only reason I subbed to Prime and I unsubbed as fast as I could, made my self actually watch the whole first season because I wanted to give them a chance but after the last episode I cancelled my sub. I have read the books more then a dozen times from the first to the last. I know that they could not do everything like the books but this was the worst show I have ever seen. And don't even get me started on Matt who is my favorite character along with Faile who I don't even want to see how bad they mess her up.

This show is a travesty. The one episode that had Lan “ crying” over a dead friend, what utter garbage, just can’t have good strong men in a woke piece of shit like this. Hollyweird, replacing strong men with strong women. Hollyweird, replacing women with men wearing dresses.

I never ever have seen a good book adaptation :( I never learn, I continue hoping whenever I hear a great book will be made a film. It’s easier if you don’t know the book…

I recently finished season 1. I've read some of the comments here... I'm sure all the critiques are valid from people that have read the books. For those that haven't and went in blind like myself, the show was pretty enjoyable with some high points nothing mind-blowing or amazing. Some episodes are much better than others..
Anyways I'm excited to explore this fantasy world, which I feel is about to get much bigger🙂

Do the book snobs actually think that for one minute if Robert Jordan's widow and editor at Tor books felt the same way they do that she'd have approved the series? NO she wouldn't. Harriet Rigney is the shows executive consultant and knows the books better than the die hard fans do, of which I too am one I quite understand all of the changes made to bring a wider audience in that don't like fantasy stories and will get them interested in picking up the books to read. Game of Thrones did this successfully.

I've waited on this show for a long time. But, after the first season I am hesitant to even watch season 2. If they don't stick more closely to the book source material this show is going to be a HUGE flop.

A few things, the books were long winded but excellent, the amazon show is atrocious.
They made Egwene al'Vere's family, Indian, owners of the only inn available in Emond's Field. Is that some sort of joke? If it isnt they surely are ignorant of what they put in this horrible adaptation, if it was and Im one of the few that actually caught that, the rest of you are slacking.

The entire fact that they have p_ssified the men in the series and changed all the Rand fight moments to include characters that were not there nor should be. Rand is supposed to be, by design, THE MOST POWERFUL Channeler ever. Every moment they put him in he's a weak p_ssy and they made the women more prominent. Such as the Egwene scene fighting off Ishamael. Never happened, she'd be toast, crushed by the the third most powerful channeler of the books. They should have just called it an Adaptation because it doesn't follow the books more then 15% of the time.

Only thing this show and the books have in common is the name they butchered this series
