For those just wanting a short list about stuff that should be bound.

Zoom view in and out.
Engine trust (left and right separately if you have split throttle).
Rudder control.
Roll control (ailerons).
Pitch control (elevator).
Air brakes up and down.
Flaps up and down.
Weapon change.
Auto start and stop.
Weapon fire.
Target lock.
Trim (4 directions).
Target designator control (up, down ,left, right).
Hud modes (navigation mode, air to ground mode, longitudinal missile aiming mode).
Wheel break.

also you should take a look at where thease are:

ELINT pod on/of
Electro-optical system on/off
Laser ranger on/off (might want to move this closer to the other two on the keyboard).

Can you do one with you showing the camera of the joystick?
Which joystick are you using?
Are you using a throttle or the key board?

Are you not using the POV Hat to look around in the cockpit? If not what are you using? I see your using them for navigation modes and stuff......

I thought my tflight hotas X had alot of buttons half this stuff I can't even put on my joystick or throttle🤦🏻‍♂️

Your target lock designators are bad, you binded one to the target lock button and the "target designator control up" is missing.I think you'd fixed it by now but just in case.

I did exactly as you said up until the axis commands tab, because when I go there, there is only 6 options to change instead of the big list you have.

I just set up DCS world on my computer. How do you make the screen larger? I do not see the typical enlarger box icon at top to accomplish this.

Me who's been playing DCS for about an hour: wait so I need to set my attack route to bomb those tanks with my Shkval Radar

I don't think I will be competitive with my current stick. It's only stick with 4 buttons and a multiway thing + the trigger. (And 2 hard to reach Buttons) And it's like 15 years old so it needs an USB Adapter

Your turtorials are great! Just bought the game yesterday with Flaming Cliffs 3 and a Logitech X52 Pro - no rudders but use the joystick-twist. Runs fine in 1080p with a I5 and 970gtx, textures high other details medium or low. Will fine tune that in the future. 13 h total gametime and maybe 3 successful landings with Mig-29A:) Had some trouble doing the cold start because engines did not start but that was due to my thrust that was not in "idle" (have to pulls it completely back). If I continue this game I definitely need some eye/head-tracking IR gadget. I'll be doing the Su-25T missions so I'm glad you have this tutorial. Im struggling with the SEAD-mission when I constantly gets shot down by SAMs.

is dcs on steam?
also can I play with mouse and keyboard? all the joysticks are way too expensive.

Thanks Capt. ! This "stock" bird makes it hard without a clickable mouse for the cockpit. Lucky me builds button boxes so with your tutorials I now have 96 buttons mapped out and labeled. Watching the videos of the reapers gives me the patients to keep learning so one day I will be able to fly formations and have fun.I had my private pilots license but due to health now can only do sims.
You "Beautiful boys" Lol keep me entertained. Will get a F-16C when money gets right and learn the carriers. I was aboard the USSN CVN-68 Nimitz from 1979 until 82 and loved the deck ops. Thanks again and maybe one day I can fly with the GrimReapers ! Cheers (or maybe a TomCat because they where the ones on board when I served)

I use the X56 Rino as well and with the key binding ''Thrust Left'' It only goes left and back to the middle it does not go to the right. for me...

Just a quick FYI - with your X56 if its the same as mine and has that mode dial, you can bind the buttons to the keyboard combination instead with the HOTAS software. That way, you can have 3 different profiles set up for the aircraft and switch between then, greatly expanding the number of controls. I normally have one set for combat and one for navigation, then depending on the aircraft split the combat into A2A and A2G. The nav one has all the stuff like gear, braking chutes and the like that you don't want to accidentally toggle

So, I've had the game for about 2 days now and just landed ...well.... "landed" my SU-25 for the first time. Glade maintenance isn't real-time. :-)

Just got into DCS. Cannot complete the second tutorial with the Su-25T. I keep losing control of the craft when I am turning. I am using a mouse and keyboard.

Without this I had to learn the hard way which buttons were the most needed. Manually cycling the laser allowed me to fire many more Vikhrs per run. I never knew the automatic countdown timer for the laser prevented me from firing another missile.

What kind of joy stick would you suggest.
