Easier than ever to get data from the web into Power BI - PW518

I am wondering how I can retrieve data from a website where I need to log in first and then run a report

Hi Ruth, thanx for the post! I have been trying to use this feature with a website that requires login credentials. I have a a valid user ID and use the portal regularly for part of my job. I was looking to build a dashboard based on data that I login to retrieve. So far, all I can seem to get is data based on the frontend login GUI and nothing further. Do you know if this feature works with data sources/websites requiring login credentials or will only work with anonymous/ websites not requiring credentials?

This program not detect sub tables in web. This is not easy.

Could this be done for multi page tables?

I can see why you were so excited. Yes it indeed is a great feature. I've been doing it with Python and beautifulsoup. having that feature in PowerBI is great! :)

Is there a possibility / feature / visual in power BI that can trigger E-mail to highlighted or selected names in a table?

Example ( Low Performers in a particular KPI Metric and would like to request a training / Coaching / Improvement plan for via Outlook E-mail)

Love the new capabilities. Any ideas for accessing data behind a login page (not a secure web page with password, but a normal login form)?

The Billboard charts is one of those websites that benefits from this new feature. I bet the developer team continues to perfect this. M intellisense should be a top priority.

Yeah, this update is really cool. But (at least for me) it's not able to refresh in the service. I wanted to create a newsfeed dashboard, but I couldn't.

I have couple of questions here.. sometimes I want search results of a website...and it has 10 pages of results...can I get all the 10 pages here...and can we export scraped data to excel...

This is indeed a very exciting improvement to getting data from the web. Not yet perfect, but it is a preview feature, so I'm sure it will improve before it reaches GA. I also like the improvements the Power BI team have made to conditional formatting with this release.

Do you know you may have intellisense in visual studio code with M plugin? Not so comfortable than within PBI but still great.
