I have an i5-9600k, no heat issues or whatever but it sucks extremely bad. It performs worse than a 10 year old 4th gen i5, which my gf is still using.
I have an RTX3070 and it's a complete joke, in all games the card is basically at 10% load, meanwhile the CPU is choking to death and I get sub 60 fps on older games even on medium settings. Avoid this CPU like the plague. It's so bad I'm even considering finally leaving Intel as a customer.

TLDR; 9600k is fine for everything. No one running an 8700k should ever have to upgrade until about 2030, realistically.. unless you're running multiple 4k monitors for gaming. it's a max 1080 setup.

Hello, little question, I currently have an I5 9600K / 1070TI / TX750 / 16gb 3200 / 1080p 144hz. I am an apex legends / tarkov / rocket league player I would like to upgrade my pc to 2x for lack of budget. do you advise me to upgrade the GPU or rather the GPU? I would like to finally switch to a stable 1440p at 144hz thank you :)

I’m extremely lucky, bought a pc with no storage and graphics card for 180, came with prime z390p, i59600k 16 ram 650 psu and a nice case, put my rx580 and swapped a couple cables and it runs perfect

i got a 8700 non-k, i am planning to upgrade, should I go for the 9600k? it is 170 on amazon. I've been checking benchmarks and gaming performance is similar to i7 and i9 when all are oced to 5.0 GHz. Should i move from i7 8600 to i5 9600k. i got a z390 mb.

Can confirm about Doom being about the GPU.

I have an i5 8600 (just purchased a 9600k discounted) with a 2080ti and it pushes 300+ fps consistently with no dips.

Doom runs on everything.

a r5 3600 is like 160eur used here in germany atm, and the 9600k is like 100-130, pretty much a budget gaming beast here

Hi Proceu Tech,

Got to know the channel a few months ago and since then don't miss a beat.
Current build:
i5 8400
GTX 1060 6gb (+190 core clock, + 575 memory clock, stock core voltage with Afterburner)
Gigabyte z370 HD3 (yeah not great for high-end cpu's but dont intend to OC, bios is updated to the latest)
32gb RAM (4x8gb) 3000mhz cl16
PSU Seasonic focus 550w Gold
240hz 1080p Alienware monitor

I play semi-competitive csgo, LOL and BF1/BF5 for fun with friends. built this rig around 3 years ago and was thinking of upgrading the GPU last Christmas but the prices are just ridiculous for a RTX 3060 TI/3070 or RX 6800.
I have 2 great offers right now for CPU upgrade, 9700k for 210€ and 9900k for 290€ (both new), i still use an old Thermalright Silver Arrow for CPU cooling that works great with the i5 and i think should be ok to handle the stock 9700k/9900k.

In your opinion should i do this "small" CPU upgrade, since prices are super low, or should i wait and just upgrade the GPU when prices return to normal. Since csgo is cpu bound and it's my main game i think this is a good move (price/performance ratio), what do you think?

Thanks for the feedback and keep up the good work :D
