I find that to easily drink from water like that.

You have to barehand punch first.

I've dug a pool 3 Wide x 5 Long x 2 Deep beneath my hoard base but I cannot get the water to go 2 deep it doesnt matter where I pour it it all flows to the bottom layer. I tried filling the bottom with dirt but as soon as I dug it out it all flowed down again. I tried placing plates on the bottom side of the top layer and was able to fill it but as soon as I removed the plates it all fell down again too.
How do I fill it up to the top please?

If you want to drink you just have to stand still for a sec while looking at the water (empty handed) it will pop up 100% of the time
there is no sweetspot, it just takes a sec for the prompt to appear

You need water collectors for water required to make duct tape and lots of other items like stews medicines etc

Progression in a game doesn't need to make sense. It needs to facilitate fun. The new system only rewards one style of play. If that's not the style you enjoy, then fu. With this update the game devs have loudly stated that builders, miners, crafters, and fighters are not welcome in their game. If you're not here to loot, go play something else.

You shouldn't be apologizing to TFP. They should be apologizing to all of us for their stupid water mechanic. I get maybe needing to collect due in a desert or in a wasteland biome. But to tell me I can't boil water when I'm standing next to a river is just BS.

When you were making the wrench there were left and right arrows next to the item level in the crafting menu. Can we choose to make lower level items now?

All you need for unlimited drinking water is one hollowed building block in your base (cube with cylindrical hollow in it) and fill it with one bucket of water. Compact space and works like a charm. Does not need to be in the ground. I keep one next to my campfire on my platform base.

I hate that they removed empty jars and cans. makes no realistic sense.

the water purifier mod is not as great as you and others make it seem. yeah, you can fill up on shitty water, but red tea is much better. and purified water is even much more better. that mod is only good until you get those recipes and even then you have to hunt for the wet pixel and have an empty hand. honestly i think the "find the pixel bug" is the fun pimps way of nerfing the mod

filled the first floor or our house with water and were able to drink it just fine. Wondering if having sides and floor in it makes a difference

To be fair, Josh was looking for "the right pixel" to bring up the prompt. So he was moving around more to look for that. In most cases, in most games, that would be the issue.
But yes it does remind me a bit of looking for something in a box, but the Woodle eyes scanning TOO quickly to see any of the things which they floated over, hehe.
I don't even have adhd, but that happens to me once in a while too. Falls under the rule: "The faster you go, the behinder you get".
On the flip side, I can get 'focus locked' looking in the trader and lose track of time. So there's two sides to every silver lined hand in the bush ;)

crouching helps a lot for drinking water to get the E to pop up for it

Water filter mod should still have murky water take 5 damage from you, just protect you from dysentery. It's a good compromise so you have to choose if you wanna take the damage or lose stamina for being thirsty.

I wouldn't worry about it being patched out. You got some good RNG to find that mod, it's not gonna be super common and it only will help you like this if your near a water source. You still need to carry water with you to drink if you're out in the other biomes or not near a good supply. Also, played 4 runs so far and haven't seen the mod but once, so I don't think its gonna be super common. It doesn't complete overcome the dew collectors as you need water for a lot of recipes, but it gives you a nice reduction in how much the player needs to consume directly is all.
On another note, I recently learned that you can still harvest trash bags and birds nests. The trick is to open it, let the items spawn, then close it with out removing it. Then you break it down with your axe. The backpack will spawn with the gubs. It's not much but you can get an extra 2 feather, some clothe and some plant fiber. Not game breaking, but could help out in the first couple of days or so when you need a lot of arrows.

As a present for your birthday I will tell you a secret. To drink water from pools just punch the water once. You are welcome)

Hey JaWoodle you can drink from the spa you made even if it is not showing "press E to drink". I made one on my solo server that was one square deep with one bucket of water in it and all I do is stand perfectly still, empty hand, and spam "E" and it works every time. The spa you made is more than big enough - just stand still and look straight down at the water and you should be good to go! The words only seem to appear on screen like 60% of the time so it might be a bit of a bug. Hope that Helps! Love your Vids! <3
