Flight Simulator 2020 vs Flight Simulator X | Direct Comparison

Flightsim X did not need 300 updates to work right. And FS 2020 remember when they said you can find your own house. I found my house with a small mountain on the street and the house did not look at all like my house. And in FSX you don't need an $1,900 computer for it to work nice and smooth.

FSX is easier to install. it just works. Unlike FS2020. The hoops you have to jump through just to get it to run is insane lol.

FsX: Free and run in almost any pc 😎👌🏻

sticking with fsx. will invest in a flight stick though. 2020 is way too demanding. will have to fork out $2000 for a new machine.

Wow. It has been 3 years since the chinese virus and I'm still flying FSX. To be fair, I use a lot of mods downloaded from the internet, so Unless I get a better job to buy msfs with dlcs, not changing anytime soon.

I've been running FSX since it came out. Unfortunately, my system does not support FS2020 and at my age and monetary level, I can't afford the upgrade so I'll stick with FSX.

FSX still has the better menu user interface, apart from the introduction of the world airport selection.

Man FSX is incredible and pure art

I like flight sim x because my pc can actually run it.

2020 version of course looks amazing but main problem is,if you really wanna play it and enyoy it you need top of the line system with i9 cpu and rtx 3090ti or rtx 4090 and 32gb + ram,game is extremely demanding and super fast internet to stream all that data.
Many people just dont have that,they own medium range desktops which can of course run the game but with heavy stuttering and 10fps in a big cities and if you are lucky 25fps outside of populated areas.
Flight Simulator X would run flawlesly on this medium range modern machines,you dont get all this super high end graphics like with FS 2020 but it's still pretty good looking game for something made in 2006,and flight model is also very realistic.

I lost track of all the Flight Sims back in the late 90s. So Flight Sim X and Flight Sim are basicly 2 different "games", but Flight Sim 40th Anniversay is just a better version of Flight Sim but the same game. Is that correct?

You can actually turn off the black screen when crashing….although the crash still isn’t represented correctly i kinda wish they would have allowed for water landings so you could try sullys heroic act or other water landings they could even add it as a challenge.

They should add more birds and the possibility of a bird strike for the failure options it would be kinda cool simulation wise

One problem with the comparison, the default zoom in fsx is set for 4x3 monitors, to fix that you can go into the settings and turn on widescreen. Also hit - a few times and zoom all the way out in cockpit view and it'll look a lot more natural in fsx.

i think both win because when flight sim x is from 2006 and had the best graphic in their age compared to 2020 one.
but i recommend that if u dont have enough money for 2020 version you can buy flight sim x for like 3dollars

Sorry to be that guy, but it’s not FS “ex,” it’s FS “ten.” The X is a Roman numeral.

I don't know why MSFS didn't adopt the default ATC from FSX and improve upon it. I like the sound of FSX's ATC much better and seems more "realistic". As someone who flies in real life, I can't stand MSFS default ATC. It sounds so robotic, over-enthusiastic and the cadence/phraseology is just way off. Sounds more like Hollywood ATC than real life.
