Didn't Fidelity or Vanguard do a study that found that even if you perfectly time every dip, you lose more waiting for the dip than just participating in it and buying in ASAP?

I threw all my money in in 1998 when I had money for the first time and trying to be like my elders who rode it up in the 90s, by 2008, no returns, then everything crashed and I thought it was all a big scam. I had lost everything, needed cash and sold for scraps just to survive and never bought into the market again. Out of a job, I created a business which now does 8 figures, and I still refuse to touch the markets because it feels like 98-00 all over again and might take another 15 years to recover.

This is what i have been doing, if the market opens at 100, and it immediately drops to 99, i buy it. because then it will recover to 101, and I am in theory 2 dollars up, then it drops to 98, not a problem i buy some more, next day 102 dollars.
