So I saw this movie again this past weekend and I've seen it a couple of times. It wasn't the best movie but it was definently original. While it wasn't a pure video game movie, because it wasn't based off of one... it still threw you into a gaming universe much like we have now in our current day and age. Gerard Butler was the REAL hero here. I'm biased because he is one of my favorite actors of all time! Loved his work in this film just I wasn't totally convinced by the supporting cast. Storywise it was pretty deep and full of action. Diaologue wasn't always on spot, felt that it could've been written better and with a bit more care. But the movie held up its end and I did enjoy it... if not only for the fact that Gerard Butler killed everything in sight and blew bodies up, lol! Definently deserves its spot in my "Gamerverse"... movies about video games. Even though this isn't one its a testament to the world of gaming!

This movie came out when I was 15 year old , I’m 29 now and just rewatched it after all this time . Damn still such a badass movie 🍿

2/10 This movie is so badly shot it is almost unwatchable. So many scenes are zoomed in so close that you can't see whats happening. Most shots are shaky or worse. What makes these directors think anyone wants to see the actors pores on their forehead? What are we trying to achieve here? Looks like the editors tried to cover up the mess made by the directors and cinematographers choices. Trying to give some uniquely rushed and raw feel was a such a huge success that the viewer is likely to get motion sickness. Strobe and flashing lights are the norm and it all looks like a mess. Was it shot on a bunch of Iphones while running? Ever heard of a tripod? The cameras definitely move more than the "action" they are shooting. I am guessing those are actors but they could cardboard cutouts... can't tell, you are making me sea sick... Zoom out FFS!
It is a shame because there might have been a 20 minute story under it all if only they let us see it.

Was thinking about watching this today. Was definitely in the mood for overwrought, dystopian trash, then I saw, Ludacris. He's just one of those actors who turn me off. Describing his acting ability as slight and sophomoric is kind. Adam Sandler does the same thing to me. However, I can grant Sandler a modicum of respect. At least what he does was considered novel, and therefore interesting, at one time. The same cannot be said for Ludacris whose onscreen presence always feels unfortunate and trite in the extreme.

That's not to say I will never watch this movie. It'll just have to be another day when my capacity for trash filmmaking meets my capacity for trash acting.

Gamer is basically COVID. Mind and body control by drugs and nanobots from psycho drug companies. Sick this movie looks like the beginning plan of totalitarianism but we were actually living the parts in the 2020s.
