Good call out on the transitioning, I was a Programmer and Scrum Master with a BS in CS, I wanted to transition into PM for the combination of hard and soft skills and the Google course has been great at fleshing out what a PM is, what the do, and what tools they have available.

I am so confused on what tech skill to switch to,first. I have experience in the NGO space as a program officer/ resource mobilizer in the last three years. I hear experience is important in landing a job, so I'm confused if I'm to accept my friend's offer to mentor me in web development, or walk in the part that relates to my experience. If I am to walk in the part that aligns with my experience, what tech courses should I start with?

Hi! I just want to know & i'm sorry if I sound dumb. But how do I go about getting my PM? Do I go to college or can I find a course online & just go about that?

I just started this 6-part course in the first week of 2023. I finished the first part and just now started the second, and I hope to finish all six parts within 2 or 3 months. I am planning to give an update on this comment once I got a job (Fyi, I was contacted the first week by a company that offered me an internship of 4 weeks, I am thinking of taking that.

Is working electrical underground for 3 years as a groundsman qualify as experience to take the CAPM?

I would say Google PMP certification is worth to pursue.. excellent curriculum and instructions and course materials..

This is a foundation course.. Really instil the fundamentals to be a competent Project Manager…

Google should have positioned this course for an internships with associate companies, rather a full stack positions…

Google/Coursera is not extending the 100hrs equivalent study certificate.. which will be useful for PMI-CAPM or PMI-PMP requirements…

For the people with experience in different domains and would like to shift to PM domain.. I strongly recommend Google PMP as the beginning course…

I have completed first Google PMP and then passed PMI-CAPM and PMI-PMP with ease..

I am looking to pivot into a project management role. I complete my BA in liberal studies in May. I decided to begin three Google PM driveways add well. I know you said that you feel it may be a waste of time. However, do you think that puts me in position for Jr. Proj mgmt or directly into a pm role? I plan to take the CAPM after the Google certificate also. I have some transferable skills already also. What's your takes on my situation?

I will be starting next month this course and I hope I can finish it as soon as possible to get this certification, I don’t have any university degree so I hope this will boost my CV and I can get a job easily

It's a shame that Google don't offer certificates in doc, sheets, slides & Gmail, just like you can get for using MS word, excel, powerpoint and outlook.

I took the course, but primarily to strengthen my resume for a specific job that is a tier higher than mine in my organization. It will be a few years before it comes available to apply for, but in the meantime it gives me time to further advance in the field (my workplace has a strong focus on Lean Six Sigma).

Where can I do this course ?

My experience was everything. Got a position as a project manager and doubled my salary. Currently enrolled in the data analytics course to up my value. Definitely worth the small investment.
