When I realised this trek through the bush was in Tasmania and saw the type of track being hiked, the first thing I thought of was "black tiger snake bathing in the sun".
That is my experience of the Western part of Tasmania - saw many black tiger snakes. The thick bush meant that the narrow walking track which was exposed to the sun attracted snakes as they warmed themselves up during the day.
And the tiger snakes in Tassie a bigger than normal due to the abundance of food.

You have totally inspired me! Not just by the amount of gold you find but your utter determination and gumption to go further and deeper on your quest. And you do it alone! Truly amazing! Do you guys have any predators out there? We have bears mountain lions rattlesnakes and meth heads here in california. I gave up sniping because no one would go with me. Got stuck on metal detecting and have done well. But after watching your videos I have been reminded how much gold is in the rivers and most of all how spiritual it is to be in the water in the middle of no where all by yourself. Quite humbling. I keep my trusty pitbulls with me to ward of bears and cats and tweakers 😂 you make great videos and they are a joy to watch keep up the good work and may you find a deposit beyond your wildest dreams!
