Not sure if this has an obvious answer but I was wondering why I might not be able to play all of the drum sounds/kits that are listed in the SI-Drum kit MIDI? Been searching the internet for the answer but I haven't found anything. (For example, I can't play any bongos etc.)

If you are going to do a “Beginner’s” tutorial please state every screen click, button selection, etc. you make prior to doing so. Early on you state “I’ll show you how to get into the settings”; then proceed to click on buttons/tabs but do not say what you are clicking on. You should be much more descriptive as you progress through the tutorial. You should have said "Click EDIT then PREFERENCES, not just demo for about one second. This would be particularly helpful to those of us that would like to follow along in the program while watching the video.

The narrator’s interrogative inflection makes this video extremely difficult to waaaaatch?

Cakewalk by BandLab is my DAW of choice as A. it's a great choice if you're working on a small (or no) budget, and B. it can do ANYTHING commercial DAWs such as Cubase, Studio one, Ableton, FL Studio can do. The choice between the many DAWs also depends on what software you're used to working with.

This software carries over 35 years (!!) of history and development! Some of the developers from the old days are still working with the development team today. Cakewalk was designed with the recording studio and audio engineer in mind; If you know your studio gear, the way gear is/can be connected and utilized, you basically can work with Cakewalk. Many laugh when one mentions Cakewalk, probably because it's totally FREE nowadays and doesn't carry an idiotic price tag, but don't estimate this DAW.

Some 'new' DAWs, such as Reaper for example, might have been optimized in terms of software and process design, but as they are mainly developed by software developers rather than audio experts, they seem to have somewhat lost the 'touch' with the recording studio/audio engineer-approach that Cakewalk still has.

Great software, and unbelievable it's actually completely FREE!

Been using Cakewalk for a while now and have made several recordings, but you lost me here. Seems this is a 1 hour class crammed into 25 minutes. Reminds me of my algebra 101 teacher.

Sorry lost me as a total beginner at around 6 minutes in. Piano roll does not show at the bottom of my screen it's in a vertical position in the middle. Your screen layout is much smaller than mine.

Hi! Thanks for the useful video!
But I have a problem. I use a Minilab 3 and am a very new to Cakewalk. The thing is that everytime I try to use Analog Lab there's this voiceover anytime I move a knob or a fader. It's so loud i cant use it.
I also can't find any enable accessibility option anywhere neither the DAW or the plug in.

I just recently got a mic set for my drums and a Behringer UMC1820 interface and began recording with BandLab, but then I discovered and downloaded Cakewalk over the weekend (I like the fact that each drum mic can have its own track in Cakewalk). I’ve watched a few of your Cakewalk videos and I find them very helpful. I started sound-checking my drums with my setup and Cakewalk and I’ve noticed that the playback through the UMC1820 only comes through the left side. All the panning in Cakewalk is centered and the meters show both left and right signal. Do you happen to have any idea why the playback is left side only? I also exported my drum sound-check to a MP3 to hear whether or not both left and right are present there. Everything is playing through left and right in the MP3 as I would expect (which is what I would expect during playback through the interface as well), but for some reason, the audio in the MP3 is real faint. Do you have any ideas for resolving that too? Thanks!
