Yes, American music has roots in black & European music. Even country music has origins in black American gospel hymns & instruments (i.e the banjo) and white European instruments (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, dulcimer)

My white grandparents were old 40s Jazz heads. My dad was a teen in the mid 60s and was into the typical RnR bands but still listened to blues.. i was born in 1983 and was brought up on rock n roll but solely blues via SRV.. i stll love SRV years later

American music is black people's music, not European, but African!

Bluegrass is a direct adaptation of Irish folk. The Hill Billies being Ulster folk (N.Irish) who left the siege of Londonderry and move to the Appalachian Highlands, Bluegrass led to country. The origins of huge amounts of american music is Irish inspired. And Jazz is Jewish.

Rock did not come from blacks or country or new orleons. Rodgers was very wrong about why rock repeats itself. thats the point. it repeats itself fast to mimic excitement.
rock is just acceleration sounds representing human excitement. this excitement only comes out of partying people.
Every genre of music had acceleration sounds in it. In minor ways , some black music, because they had to appea; to the youth because of a smaller buying base therefore had more acceleration music. yet no great songs but only the style.
A few americans copied the style with hit songs. yet rock is human emotions and nothing to do with blacks in particular.
thats why they try to say every type of music led to rock. They didn't.

And country music lol we invented that as well
