Note on the Ace of Cups...I believe that what looks like bells is actually Lily of the Valley. So I think Coleman is referring to the quote from Song of Solomon ,"I am the Lily of the Valley, the Rose of Sharon" 🥀🌺🌼💮💐

Emperor holding a lemon 🤣 that made me laugh. He is holding a royal orb, usually it has a cross but i think it was removed or changed and i dont know why. It’s definitely a royal orb to symbolise domination ☺️

In the King of Pentacles, his foot is on the head of a bull. Look closely and you will see the horns also and the snout. Maybe means only he can tame or have dominion over the bull.

Actually, the to faces on the shoulders of the chariot's rider are probably representations of the god Janus which representants duality: life and death, beginnings and ending. It also represents doorways, and transitions.

Card 12- the hanged man and 21 the world are reflecting numbers and when you reverse the hanged man, the legs are in the exact same position as the world card. Difference in head position and hands tied behind the back versus arms open wide.

New subscriber as of today. I found you by way of wanting to explore symbolism as a stand alone subject, to then connect it with my learning of the tarot. Your artwork is vibrant and a great homage to the Rider Waite deck!
With the Emperor card, I can see that it looks like he is holding a lemon, but, an orb (with the cross knocked off) makes more sense!😊 Lemons are associated with themes such as hope, happiness and vitality and he looks too grumpy for that.😉 Orbs, especially those connected with monarchy, are symbols of 'God's' power on earth, so being the emperor, that makes more sense to me, but of course, there are many ways to interpret the tarot and that is probably why it has been around for so long and still relevant today! 😃

According to Arthur E Waite, the Emperor is holding a globe in his left hand. Since Waite designed the RWS deck along with Pamela Colman-Smith, I think it's clear that the Emperor is not holding a lemon.

The 18th card is ruled by the constellation Pisces and the 9th is ruled by Virgo which are opposites on the zodiac wheel. That is the connection.

The major arcana tarot is numbered zero through 21 for a total of 22 each card is ruled by a celestial body which is the 12 zodiac signs the Sun & Moon and the rest of the eight planets in the sky. Remember Earth was not a planet in ancient astrology because they believed in a flat Earth.
