Thank you so much for this video. You show pure knowledge, experience and expertise (I feel like I'm reading my art books) in every sentence, it's sincerely astonishing!
ОтветитьThat was true of Babe Ruth as well... he lead the league in strike outs the year he hit 60
ОтветитьI i luv that phrase "Its like the finger of God" I've heard u say it a couple times now. But that's excatly what i think, what it's like is you're seeing a miracle for that fleeting minute or so..
ОтветитьThank you for the wonderful lesson. You reignited what I have almost lost while trying to get details so accurate. I still want them, but you labeled what I want to paint in the first place. Thank you. I am beginning at age 74. But the talent is in me. I just need to add the skill to bring out what is in there.
Ответитьwhere did you get the vest?
ОтветитьYou are fantastic!
And l have been an artist for over 30 years professionally
I’m from India and would love to learn more from you, please do tell n advice how to take it forward
ОтветитьI enjoy the way you teach! 👍🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьYou are so super!
ОтветитьLoved the description of " where the magic happens"
ОтветитьSo have you ever painted a flying saucer?
ОтветитьHow thick is your board? Is it best to paint all sides?
ОтветитьHow do I become your student? Greatest teacher.
ОтветитьLove this! Thank you!
ОтветитьOk I love what you doing, you talking sense and very informative ,you good
ОтветитьWatching again! Very informative.
Ответить"It hasta be Shasta!"
ОтветитьI have just watched you paint an oak. Now I'm hooked. You are so unique! Much appreciation. I love how you used negative painting to carve the tree to life. I grew up in California too. BA from UC Davis in Botany. Spent 3 months in the SN back country studying high alpine meadows. My sister ended up as the Mt. Shasta District Ranger. So although we live in Salt Lake City, we have visited Mt Shasta so many times. All this to say I totally get your vision. And yes the light is so evocative, but in the case of Castle Rock + Mt Shasta, I think the GRANDEUR has imprinted on your heart. Your love of life and nature is what is shining through. My lovely memories are always dramatically lit.
ОтветитьI like blue shop towels I get from a local auto parts place. they are lint free! No more lint on my brushes!
ОтветитьStefan you are amazing. Thank you for being on here.
ОтветитьLots of wonderful paintings are on on canvasas.
ОтветитьMy acrylic painting of Vernal Falls just won 2nd. place at the county senior art show in the professional division. I reworked some of it after watching you paint it and dramatically develop the light in the scene.
ОтветитьYou are amazing Coach...you don't know how much I admire you!!
I love the way you have demonstrated here!! Amazing amazing ❤️❤️❤️ and you are so funny....🤭🤭 And so intelligent too and a great artist too...much much more
I’ve been watching your videos for a very long time, and I still always Learn something from you. Thank you
ОтветитьHi Stefan,
Where are you?
Stefan, I'm inspired. Please can I connect with you?
I bought my mom a gallery -
She👈🏽HAD 1,500 PAINTINGS
I've been a brat -until recently repented and have yet to paint
But stuck (mom gone) please😓help🙏🏽
I love you, Thanks for all your painting help which also translates to other mediums such as acrylics with a little slow-dry medium
ОтветитьLooks like the Dolomites in Italy
ОтветитьOne day I'll get to attend your workshop- I can atleast dream
ОтветитьI was happy to hear that you make some of the painting up out of imagination - from your vast knowledge of the area, putting somethings together not quite the way nature did, but will look beautiful on the canvas. I paint my favorite lake frequently. One sister didn't understand the patch of wildflowers. They haven't bloomed yet when she is there and yes, I do add a few extra - and skip a few docks and add an eagle etc...
ОтветитьOh shit ! Lol that’s my whole process !
ОтветитьThank you Stefan for these videos. Great tips on practical aspects like surfaces and mediums which makes painting a more pleasurable practice. I love those videos about the keys to great paintings. As a painter I can say wholeheartedly it enhances what I learned in the art school that I graduated from in Florence. Have a grand day ❤️
ОтветитьThis guy isn't up his own arse at all is he? Lol
ОтветитьWonderful. Thank you! I learn more from your videos than all the art lessons I have been to put together!
ОтветитьReally great incentives
ОтветитьI couldn't agree with you more about canvas vs Masonite. The smoothness of the board enables you to put the paint just where you want it without the interference of the canvas "grid" grabbing your paint on you.
Grabbing the viewer is one of the toughest pieces to capture when you go about your painting for you must choose what you want to convey!
As for stopping on a dime to capture a moment, I've got hubby trained to stop as soon as I yell "Ooooh!!! Stop! Stop! Stop!" He literally can't help himself lol. He now looks for those magical moments with me :-)
Good to know about the horizontal/vertical balancing. Thank you for your insights, beauty, and poetry of coaching. Much appreciated 🙏❤🥰
Thanks 🙏
ОтветитьSir I have learnt a lot from your videos and still learning...lots of love and respect from India...
ОтветитьBrilliant! Following these closely from across the pond in Britain, glad to see you haven’t been to badly affected by the fires. Let’s hope shasta doesn’t blow its top! Having watched all your other videos I’ve learned so much and always ask myself “what were you thinking???” But getting to see you paint is giving me even more clues and helping me improve. Thank you (next time I sell a painting I will be joining patreon 😄)
ОтветитьHave been applying your wet wet technique. Have been doing that but not as consistently as I should. Now I make sure I start , the next day by wetting a painting I need to finish with turpentine and safiroil.
ОтветитьVery enjoyable. Thank you.
ОтветитьThank you 🙏🏾 Stephan Baumann. It’s very beautiful and creative too.
ОтветитьStefan, what is the difference between checkering and notan? This video is just Awesome. Thank you
ОтветитьFabulous video!
ОтветитьReally great tips in this video Stefan. Now trying to apply all these principals is where the magic is going to happen! 💖
ОтветитьCould you explain more how you use clove oil? Is there a particular kind you use and how much do you use in you paints? Is the primary purpose just to slow the drying time? Do you use it wil Liquin? Thank you!
ОтветитьLOL "more slippery than snot", no one but you can see the truth so clearly! I'm still playing with my panels to get the right level of smoothness and I'm definitely going to remember this!
Stefan, I hate to disagree with you, but once I started coaching with you, there is no way that I will ever have a garage full of bad paintings. You always know what I need to do to fix a weak or even bad painting. I threw away about 3-5 paintings after I first started working with you because of bad design, but since you coached me on design/composition, everything I did was corrected successfully. Back when I was working in the office, I would bring the paintings to the office and people were amazed. Since then, I've done nothing but improve. I'm way past creating bad paintings since about 4 months of your coaching. Now, people are blown away by my work. But my standards have also increased and while I'm still proud of my earlier work, even I can't wait to see what I'll paint next. Thanks so much. I love this adventure.
When will it be on Patreon?
ОтветитьI would like to see it completed. The blue shop towels are excellent for wiping or blotting the paint because there isn't any lint. Thank you for sharing your experiences. From upstate New York.🤗
