221 watt? fake
ОтветитьI don't see a big rush for the new i5. Brand new DDR spec, so why not wait a year or two before upgrading, so you don't have to pay for RAM what you paid for your CPU? You'll only save money by waiting
ОтветитьLooks like I gonna finally switch from 2600k to 12600k.
ОтветитьQuestion - are all these huge gains for Alder Lake vs Zen 3 based on windows 10 testing or windows 11? Seems funny that windows 11 just happens to nerf AMD
ОтветитьWhere is the 5800x $450? You mention micro center occasionally- it’s $369 there. Likely less than that soon.
ОтветитьBut... How much will a new motherboard that will support overclocking be??
ОтветитьV-cache will help AMD's competitiveness 'till AM5
ОтветитьInteresting, Win 11 gives Ryzen a 10-15% performance penalty, at the same time Intel claims a 40% gain, on Win 11. Finally come full circle here, and I smell bullshit.
ОтветитьSo competition is actually back. Intel has finally pulled their heads outbof their ass.
The comparisons barely work though as we're comparing it to something that was out to battle what was alread out, let alone what came out aftetwards.
That and even with Windows 11 "better scheduling" most computer programs aren't designed to use big and little cores. Once you get away from gaming and the medial stuff, software design is gonna have yo seriously catch up. Somethibg that certain industry big wigs had the audacity to talk about at certain tech meets years ago at the onset of multi-core, and STILL arent doing that good on that front themselves technically 🤬 (I'm looking at you Adobe)
At that point though, we're talking about i7s and up. Let the lottle gamers have their time though
I mean i get the sentiment, but you can get sky high framerates on 5 year old cpus lol
ОтветитьSometimes I wonder want medication your taking when you suggest $600 for a cpu. They right, it is to much. With components rising in price soon building a computer will cost $3,500-$4,500. That would be okay if that were the ONLY place our income were going but there is house payments, car payments, car insurance, home insurance, health insurance, car maintenance, home maintenance, food, water, electrical expenses, cell phone with plan, Internet access, buying clothing, toiletries, food, beverages, condiments and of course an entertainment system, home theater etc.. of course any low cost laptop and or desktop will do for the internet access but for serious gaming a good midrange system is the only way to go. All I'm saying is most people in that situation are not going to upgrade every year, Two years or even three years. Depending on life maybe five to eight years. If anything they may upgrade a Processor if possible, Memory, GPU, Storage. Money for many people is hard earned.
ОтветитьI think peoplw are putting too much coverage on the K series i5s while the real value is in the i5 XX400 series ( and the F variant at that)
ОтветитьA shadow of their former self ?
I recently bought a 10400f at 150€ , 40€ less than the price of the 3600 in my country... best vfm cpu on the market right now
No thanks. I'll stick to amd so I can upgrade cpu to newer generation without changing entire build.
Ответитьi´m waiting on the next gen, i need to see prices of everything cause i want to uprgade my ryzen 2600 for gaming since i´m a VR simracer, but i´m counting on damn DDR5s to be expensive like a mf...
ОтветитьHow do I lock all cores at the same clock speed during gaming without having overclocking processor (Intel) ?
ОтветитьWhat make the i5-11600K better than 11600? So Higher clock speed is the key between these two processors?
ОтветитьPeople still watch these tech videos that come out everyday saying the same thing. They don’t know price or performance. Also you don’t need 12 cores for gaming. Didn’t know everyone was a pro gamer…
ОтветитьI'm just waiting for the 12400F
ОтветитьAMD can drop prices on 5xxx inventory then drop 6xxx, which people suspect they are about to.
ОтветитьI just bought some Intel stocks so... I put my money where your mouth is LOL.
ОтветитьIt’s sad that amd can just add vcache to their cpus and be able to compete with alder lake lol poor Intel
ОтветитьThis new Intel CPU is so amazing. It is about to narrowly beat a one year AMD CPU! It just needs double it's power...save on the CPU pay the electricity...
ОтветитьAny leaks for 12400f or something?
ОтветитьI remember in 2015 I was furious about how Intel charged double price of i5s for i7s which only offers 4 additional virtual threads
ОтветитьHope it's also good news for the laptop purchasers.
Ответить6 core 12 thread CPUs have been the sweet spot for gaming-centric builds for a few years now. The last couple generations of Ryzen 5 and i5 with this configuration have been very good for gaming. 8 core 16 thread is still fairly high end. It will be impressive if 12600k can match or beat 5800x. I'd love to see that, because that might cause a price drop for 5800x.
ОтветитьLol i still use Windows 7
ОтветитьNot planning to upgrade windows until it is more compelling (2025), assuming I don't decide to go Linux first. I would like to build a new system with a 5600X v-cache or a cheaper vanilla 5600X if/when GPUs are available :( . In the meanwhile, I'm still rocking my i5-7500 which is (mostly) good enough. Also, Intel have not impressed in the power efficiency dept. recently. 65W actual power draw or bust.
Ответитьis i5 coming out at october too?
ОтветитьNew CPU: $300, new MOBO: $250, new RAM: $250, new cooler: $100. Grand total: $900 for a new core fucking i5 CPU plus an added bonus of Windows 11 early adopter headaches. ALL OF THAT vs a cheaper CPU upgrade that's also DROP IN? I think I'd rather upgrade my GPU if can find one. Or, just jump the wagon and upgrade to the 5950X with vcache and blow that puny i5 away. You're mad, Tom. You're mad and you're losing touch with how a buyer thinks if you think anyone would see a $900 investment into a fucking i5 as a great deal.
ОтветитьAt this point i just hope that they don't use disabled graphics on the kf models. Not sure how the extra space will be beneficial, but hey that's less wasted silicon.
ОтветитьHappily waiting for a cheap 5800x to replace my 2700x
Ответить@mlid why do so many others hate on the e-cores, from what I see each cluster is basically an i5 6600k
ОтветитьI kind of get the feeling that Intel wants to cram as many little cores onto CPUs so they can scream that they have moar coars than AMD. Since unfortunately we know that the majority of PC users won't know the difference between regular cores and little cores...
ОтветитьI walked into MicroCenter and bought a 6600XT UNDER MSRP, I am NOT going to complain. I got something and it was UNDER $400... Maybe the 3060 0r 3060Ti IS better but not $150 better to me... And yes I think I paid too much for the 6600XT but I REALLY needed SOMETHING for a new build... I also can't wait too build a new Intel System I have had my X299 7900X for quite awhile now. ( I got the 7900X at Microcenter for around $650 which was a bit less than the same Threadripper in the same class...)
ОтветитьGaming is latency-sensitive.
You can't extrapolate game performance from IPC uplifts and other benchmarks. Rocket Lake is a wash for gaming when compared to Skylake, because its IPC uplift was essentially erased by its latency increase.
Until we have some idea what the latency is like with Alder Lake, it's not safe to make any guesses about gaming performance.
No way~! Impossible~! It will also have 5800X price, or maybe more. Who want to sell better for cheaper in this chip shortage situation?
Ответитьcan't wait for this to come out so I get 300+fps in titles that u can't achieve it in currently
ОтветитьI'd love for the competition to heat up so I can grab a 5950x for cheap.
ОтветитьStill skeptical on alder lake. 🤷♂️ like what if all these leaks are wrong
ОтветитьI hope performance will be as good as you say. Competition is good.
Looking to get a 5950XT myself.
Lots of speculation lol
ОтветитьHey Tom, Intel draw 250w , is that true? What does your sources say?
ОтветитьWhen Intel claims 20% better realworld says 5%
ОтветитьCache?
ОтветитьI've been excited about this one for as long as I've been watching your channel too.
Ответить8 little cores with big integrated graphics could make a sick gaming setup
ОтветитьAwsome news! That means my planned upgrade to R9 5900X will be lot cheaper!
Ответить
