Nier Replicant - Before You Buy

Ah yes, another Nier review in which the narrator never took the seconds to learn how to pronounce the word Automata.

I'm going to go off on a limb and say this is one of the best games as far as music and audio quality

technically didn't buy this but am watching with the same intention as everyone else

There's no way this guy failed to learn the pronunciation of 'automata' before saying it 100 times... Automata is the plural of automaton which is pronounced: 'uh-tom-'uh-tuh

Easily one of my favourite games of the 360/PS3 versions and one of my most treasured of all time. I came to watch the review after finding out it's going on Plus soon as I never played this remake/remaster. I'm really glad they didn't change it up too much and I'll definitely be replaying it now.

The original Nier was one of a very few games in my 20+ years of gaming that made me cry, and it did it twice. Won't spoiler anything, but I'm sure veterans will know at least one of the sadder parts.

Best soundtrack I've ever heard as well, at least original soundtracks. That's what initially kept me playing a decade ago when the game started off a bit dull, purely the music made me play on - then it just gets better and better and better.

Definitely get this if you've never played it and come to this review after finding out it's coming to Plus, it's a masterpiece of story telling.

Can't believe Falcon called Kaine "Kane" though 😂 especially if he's played it. It's pronounced almost like Kanye, aka the rapper that would do well in 1930's Germany. Surely he'd know that if he had indeed played through it 3-5 times?

Just beat Automata, ending E, WOW. such a great experience. Music top notch. Combat fluid. Great story. 5kg of brick in the head with ending E. Superb game.

I kind of hope they also remake the Drakengard series. At least 1 and 2. I know 2 has nothing to do with NieR or Yoko Taro but the first two games are really expensive to buy now for ps2. And if they do remake 1 oh god please remove that horrible gimmick on the final boss for the love of everything holy. I never beat the final boss on 1 or 3 because of that shit.

I find it fascinating how the facial animation in cutscenes is worse. It's the eyes. They don't emote as well as the original. That is talking about the old content. The new content does it pretty well considering they did do them from scratch

Why I she in panties

Im playing this rightnow and just got back from my first visit on Facade. I Finished Automata first before playing this game. And I gotta say, Automata is a much better over all experience but what I like in replicant are the bosses. the 4 boss that i've fought so far are way more fun than the bosses in Automata imo I have few bosses that I like in Automata like Simone but all the bosses that i've encountered so far in Replicant are waaay more fun. ALSO there's Grimoire Weiss, he's so much fun and entertaining to listen too in the english version which im using.

I started playing nier replicant bcs i am a fan of 2b😏 and also bcs its cheaper than automata but noticed to late that she is a child and not the mc in this game :( now im stuck 2 h in not wanting to play the game bcs it feels boring

I played a demo of Automata and was somewhat put off by the genre shift every couple minutes, so I'm not quite sure what to make of the Nier series on the whole... If Replicant is fun, I may try it... and I don't mind slow-paced gaming... it's how I relax... I just want to know how fun the game gets when you get powerful?

I've already bought the game so I'm just hyping myself up to see what I have to look forward to

I have played it as well on the Xbox 360. That’s what got me hooked. The music and the art style. It also gives me a legend of Zelda feel.

I'm playing Replicant right now as my intro to the series and I must say. Story has made me cry more than once and I just hit the big half-shift. Slightly repetitive gameplay but this is shaping up to be something really special.

The one thing I would warn about: make sure you save often and in multiple slots. The game has a point where it cuts you off from the first part of the game making it impossible to complete any quests you didn’t finish. I fell into that trap and had to start from scratch…
