hi there im having a bit of a problem, when my player touches the finish line and the death cube nothing happens do you maybe know the problem?

in the script for the basic movement part, when I added it as a component, the option speed didn't show up, did anyone come across the problem?

I did the movement script EXACTLY how you did it, but there is no speed variable in the component.

Please comment why.

I think the button and text objects shouldn't be siblings because then you click the buttons (I found out after some time). So i've parented the button object for the text object, and now the button objects aren't obscured by the text objects.

for making the character move. you put the actual movement in the update method. But in fact, u should put any related physics functions in the fixedupdate method

why my ground checking is not working

Neither of these scripts work for me. The jumping doesn't register when its on the ground, and the camera doesn't want to add. I cant believe Unity doesn't have a prebuilt side scrolling controllable character you can drag in and play right away.
