Mystery Ranch suspension sucked for me. I had a Bozeman Terraplane back in the 90s and it was incredible, but those packs weren’t one size fits all “adjustable”.
ОтветитьSomething neat about MysteryRanch and their packs, they give HUGE discounts to outdoor professionals. When I was a backpacking guide one of my colleagues got 50% off of MysteryRanch packs. That actually makes their packs a fantastic detail if you're in a relevant industry. Another one of my buddies works in a climbing gym and is eligible for the same discount.
ОтветитьWhat shirt are you wearing, Justin? Looks super cozy
ОтветитьHow’s it do getting to your back teeth
ОтветитьI want a pot lid! Please make it! I will buy it!
Ответить좋은 정보 감사해요! ❤
ОтветитьToothbrush looks wild and the pillow and tent very cool. The giant pack looks like a 90s throwback when huge packs were in vogue. Or something you give to your buddy; they carry it all, you remain ultrlight. 😂. Wonder if a finger toothbrush would work too. 🤔
ОтветитьNo need for that fake background to show backpacks. Just film it in front of anything else. :)
I mean the software made background. It is weird on the eyes, the edges are cut off as well - like the strings etc.
It is fine if you show the backpack in front of the cheap contrast looking fabric.
Justin, my good sir. Do U have a use for “down pants”? Are they for camp site & tent use only, or do U hike in down pants?
ОтветитьI want that lid more than anything else
ОтветитьYou got the blue octa cruiser! I hope they bring that color back. Love my alpha cruiser from them but I ordered a 120 gsm senchi one for colder weather mid layer. Very interested to see how that one works
ОтветитьTop Secret gear😅😂😅😂
ОтветитьYou mean there's gear that I've got before you ever recommended it?! 😉 😂 I got a Kakwa 55 last year so that I have more carry capacity when I have my dog with me. She has her own pack, but she's small and can't carry a whole lot! She carries some of her food, and I carry her sleep system and more food. I really like the hip belt on this pack. And it carries really well.
I'm going to have to take a look at those socks! They look pretty cool.
“Ultra” light has gone stupid.
ОтветитьWow loving that lid!!!
ОтветитьFor the record, the Alpha Direct (Mesh) products perform best when worn underneath an "outer garment". Alpha Direct socks? .....there's gonna be Alpha Direct everything soon.....🤣
ОтветитьI just ordered their socks! Bonus, they're a matching color to my top & bottom (camp pj's). Fantastic gear! What gsm are the pants/socks that you're testing?
ОтветитьCame here for the pot lid. Leaving disappointed.
ОтветитьHello sir, I just wanted to give you some helpful criticism. Obviously, you do what you want - it’s your channel! But I do know a thing about holding attention with people and…
Well, the use of your green screen is very… distracting. I would recommend learning how to do proper green screening or don’t do it at all. I think what would be helpful is your backgrounds - they’re too blurry so it takes the viewer out of the video and now they can bounce off the video.
If I were you, I’d look at the analytics of your videos and verify if people are bouncing off at the times of the green screen. This would help you decide whether or not the information I’m giving you is accurate or not.
For all reality knows, the green screen effect is okay and nobody bounces off during those times. And that’s wonderful. Good. My info was useless and it means you’re doing a fantastic job.
I know each time I saw the green screen, I kept wanting to bounce off and the only reason why I stayed is because my curiousity of the items overpowered my will to bounce off so I stayed.
Hope this was helpful.
I want that lid Justin! Shut up and take my money!!! lol
ОтветитьExcited for the T100 review as an MR fan
Ответитьthe pot lid looks like a similar one to the Japanese branded one you can buy. Very cool lid that fits on the 750ml toak.
ОтветитьOf course there's a pillow in the new gear 😂😂
Ответитьhey Justin, what hike is that in the opening shot?
Ответитьbru that toothbrush is so jank why not just use a ul brush from ggg
ОтветитьI’m really keen on the Big Agnes Rapide SL. Hopefully you’ll have a good experience with it. I’ve been looking at this pad and the Tensor for quite sometime. I had hoped the zoom at it all but I have read a few not so favourable reviews.
ОтветитьIs the pillow out now? I’m desperate to try and find a nice big pillow as I’m a side sleeper
ОтветитьSkyGoat - That's my new go-to for mid layer warmth. Plus, the maker's HQ is right here near Breck, CO. Very similar to that UL fabric...made from recycled plastic bottles. Its below zero in Colorado today and this SkyGoat is a perfect UL hoodie for errands around town, plus goes well with my SpeedGoats that Justin told me about :) (I'm new to this whole hiking gear community)
ОтветитьThe Rapide is significantly warmer than the Zoom. I would put it somewhat warmer than the Tensor and the Xlite. It’s good down to just below freezing by itself, and with a CCF pad like the Gossamer Gear 1/8” inch pad under it and appropriate insulation, I’ve taken the Rapide to the teens (F°) and been comfortable. Highly recommend it.
ОтветитьMystery Ranch, like most hunting geared packs, are overbuilt ie unnecessarily heavy. For 100L, that's actually not unreasonable, but still a lot of weight. My Kuiu hunting pack is 60L, under 4 lbs, can pack out a deer, and rides much more comfortable than other brands I've tested. It's also big enough for me to camp for a week and has a sling for my rifle. But at under 4 lbs at that size, my hunting pack easily doubles for backpacking. Any hunters out there, I'd recommend looking into Kuiu first.
ОтветитьLooking forward to your review of the Kakwa!!
ОтветитьPicked up a Rapide in 2023 and it's the only reason I am able to leave the hammock at home. Hearing that they changed the insulation now makes me think I was a year early pulling the trigger, but I'm still super happy with it.
ОтветитьI want that lid
ОтветитьYou'll love the Kakwa 55... been on several trips with it in hot and cold climates... rides super nice and is very durable.
ОтветитьThat teeth brush on the end of long spoon is (at least for me) the exact spot, where the line between UltraLight and StupidLight is acrossed. 😀
ОтветитьHow much gear do ultralight backpackers use up over a lifetime? If you just went a bit heavier you could get stuff that lasts and leave less trash in the garbage.
ОтветитьMystery Ranch packs are so heavy. Surely with the Alpha Direct socks you’d have to layer them with other socks? And would they actually work like the tops for moisture management? As you’re compressing them by stepping on them and having them inside shoes / boots, not like something on your upper body. That toothbrush head is super dumb too - one slip of the hand and your gums will get torn open by the metal spoon / fork handle.
ОтветитьI think the Unightie would qualify as a curious item Justin. How can I interest you in testing it out?
ОтветитьI’ve got the old Rapide SL and it’s fantastic! Thinking about getting one for the wife, but I’m hesitant about the new model. Looking forward to your thoughts on this new version.
Ответитьi cant wait for the lid!
ОтветитьWhat the heck, where is the pot lid!
😅
Did you think about the Big Wild 95 pack from Superior Wilderness Designs? I have one on order… it’s less than half the weight…
ОтветитьI’m so excited for the lid!
Ответить$900.00 for a 3 person tent!! You must be out of your mind!!! Definitely not for us ‘regular’ folks ….
ОтветитьAny timeline for the pot lid?
ОтветитьAnything new on the pot lid?
ОтветитьI want the potlid, where can i buy it
