How do you get dismounted gothic knights

im 41 years old and i just started playing this game on mobile.
at the 2nd day i found out im playing england all wrong!

HRE - Reiter, there wasn't anything including elephants that I couldn't stomp with them.
Denmark - Norse War Cleric, one of the best melee cavs in the game.

I didn’t even know that in a custom battle you can play as the Saxons, Normans and rebels, and the video is just a masterpiece!!!!

The strongest unit is the assassin. With one good assassin you can bring an empire down.

Gothic knights are incredibly bad in practice. Their stats look good, their armor and weapon looks amazing, but they spend all their time blocking, they have no shield, they get shredded by melee units and crossbows alike. They lose to almost any kind of unit and they do not perform like their stats say they should.

Try them out in custom battles against pretty much any mid to late game unit, such as any cavalry you wish, any missile units you wish, most 1 handed sword infantry, see the result. It's bad, isn't it? These guys look so amazing that it breaks your heart.

Note, I do see the video description, I know the claim isn't being made that they're the best. But man, I gotta warn folks who don't know about the 2 handed bug, it nerfs this unit hardcore so they basically just stand there mostly stuck in the blocking animation instead of completing an offensive swing. Now, they don't have bad defense but if you stand there only getting hit and not landing blows, eventually some hits kill you and you kill very little before you do.

It's sad. You can see them do okay against a light cavalry unit in melee, not charge, and it's fine, and they can probably carve up most missile units in the game in melee, but you can do that with just about any infantry unit.

Seeing Danish Axemen and Varangian Guard vs each other would be very interested, as they were historically both Vikings.

Counting like all units, but must be different between infantry and missiles. Also most stronger unit in Denmark is the Obudshaer, cuz they work the same in vanilla and DLCs.

Spain: Tercio Pikemen
Portugal: Dismounted Portuguese Knights
England: Dismounted English Knights
France: Volguiers
Venice: Heavy Venetian Infantry
Denmark: Obudshaer
HRE: Dismounted Gothic Knights (Forlorn Hope in Teutonic and Britt)
Scotland: Noble Pikemen
Byzantium: Varanguian Guard
Turks: Hashishim
Russia: Dismounted Dvors (because they're count as heavy infantry too)
Papal States: Swiss Guard
Egypt: Hashishim too
Moors: Hashishim again loll
Hungary: Battlefield Assasins
Milan: Standard Carrocio
Sicily: Dismounted Norman Knights
Poland: Dismounted Polish Knights (and the most strong since Poland IS the wrost faction in the game)

That Rocket Launcher and Elephant still give me PTSD to this day

ah yes 2h shock infantry i always use them as somewhat disposable assault troops that are the first to rush the wall breach or assault the enemy lines with ligher swordsmen following behind them to exploit the bloody gap that the shock infantry left behind , ofc i could just flank the enemy with shock infantry but that just makes battles more trivial than they ought to be i preffer a good old slugging match with mountains of corpses on both sides

For HRE it is Teuton knights. Gothic knigts in vanila are so, so overrated.

Lovely collection of units which you'd happily have in any army. Crossbowmen are op in a decent army or bridge battle. Although I loved that you had the French lancers. Would have loved to have seen each unit in its preferred territory

Would definitely argue that it is Norse War Clerics for Denmark, think they are hands down the best non-missile cav in the game tbh

HRE Gothic Knights are just a meme. They look good but they don’t work as intended since the launch of the game. If you want infantry you go with Imperial Knights, but the strongest unit in the roster (and the strongest cav in the game) is the Teutonic Knight (also super iconic and famous).

For Venece you can’t take a generic crossbow, they have two of the better units in the game by far. One is the Stradiots and the other is the Heavy infantry, you play that faction only to get those two.

All the rest is fine, you can argue a few, but it’s good enough. 👍

England have two strongest unit in your video , I only admit the second one wasn't English Mailed Knights and was English Knights .
