I originally had an i5 8600k with a 1060… but upgraded to a 3070 ti. So I said screw it after a year and upgraded to the i9 9900k and it’s such an amazing upgrade and not bottlenecking at all so far..
ОтветитьThis test would show even more dramatic change the older you go. I'm rocking a 3080ti and I can feel my i7 7700k starting to bottleneck even at 1440p
Ответитьjust lok at the temps yall.
ОтветитьAside from the 1% lows, the 9900k holds up pretty well.
ОтветитьFinally, 4k gaming has enough fps to justify upgrading!
Ответитьfuck the 11900k i guess
ОтветитьI wondered if it was time to upgrade my 10900k to the 14900k, but it being the same as a 13900k, doesn't seem like it, since I play 4k. I was about to like your video, but it seems I gave it thumbs up from a year ago when looking to upgrade to the 13900k.
ОтветитьCPU Tests in 4k... facepalm.
ОтветитьPointless testing a cpu at 4k resolution
ОтветитьI almost spent $2000 on a new board, cpu and ram, but after seeing this, I might as well just stay with the 9900K and wait for the RTX 5090 instead.
ОтветитьCpu bottle necks where cpu utilisation rarely exceeds 50 odd % and never approaches anywhere near saturation of the cpu potential. I don't think it's the cpu that's the bottle neck. I think it's the optimisation of the games
ОтветитьThis is the test i was looking for... Huge thanks. Btw if someone wouldn't understand why this test matters: regardless if we talking about 4K, 1440p or even 1080p, if we buy an expensive GPU to play any game at Ultra the GPU will run at 100%. In this case the amount of FPS will be limited by the GPU (mostly). And this test shows we can keep our "old" CPU and just buy a new GPU if we want to keep up with the latest games. Good thing i have a 10850K and seems like it will be fine for a while... Now i just have to upgrade my GPU instead of jumping on the "always the latest gen hardware" wagon and building a new, expensive PC that would give me max 5-10% performance boost. If i put that money on the GPU i could get 80-100% boost with the same "old" CPU.
ОтветитьThank you for showing the true power of Intel and Nvidia
ОтветитьIn every test we can see 20-60% cpu usage. Not 99%, not 95%, not 80%. Best test ever!
ОтветитьI am currently using a 9900K on a 4K60 monitor, and have only replaced the video card from GTX1080 to RTX3080 to RTX4090.
Even though there is a difference in performance with the new CPU, it doesn't seem like there is any significant deterioration that would be fatal.
With this level of difference, I personally don't think it's worth spending money to replace CPU + memory + M/B.
I would like to continue using the 9900K+RTX4090. Thank you for the very helpful video.
*use google translate
What I learned is I should be able to pair a 4070ti with my 9900k and get near the performance of a 13th gen build. I’m gonna go with a gpu instead of a new build and weaker gpu
ОтветитьI9 9900k is still a very powerful CPU, In my opinion defo no need to upgrade especially playing at higher res. So happy with my 9900k.
Ответитьfake
ОтветитьCpu clock didnt highest, unfair comparison
ОтветитьHow can be the 4090 at 99% ?
ОтветитьHave you not realized these tests are pointless. It's GPU bottlenecked.
ОтветитьNot going to upgrade my 9900k until at least 15900k appears.
Ответить
Ответитьthe 9900k box looked cool
ОтветитьWhen you watch the fps counter on the first game the 12900k gets 50-60fps more than the 13900k…. Wtf?
Ответитьshould of done 1440p and 1080p so the GPU isn't holdi g back the cpus to make the fpsthe same.
ОтветитьWhy does everybody avoid using the i9 11900k? Lol
Ответить9900K at all core 5.0 gig?
ОтветитьWhy is the 12900k winning? Or is it that I just happen to buy the best CPU ever❤
Ответить12900K for whatever reason really seems to have stolen the show here, as far as I can tell it provides the most frames and its still running lower power consumption than the 13900K while performing better, marginal 1% and .1 % differences basically make it a no brainer, save 300$ and get a 12900K, or KS 🔥👍
ОтветитьTengo un i9 9900 y juego 4k final son problemas y hasta 120
ОтветитьGas es que a100 fps gas nunca y con una 4090 y que es un mostró de Targeta gas
Ответитьthat seals the deal, it´s not worth upgrading from 9900k to newer top tier intels
Ответитьnot many ppl care about 4k (only 2% users according to steam)
Ответить9900k for some years and i play all the time on 2k so my next step will be upgrading from 2080 TI to to 4080 or 4090.I don't care about 4k or more
ОтветитьI'm amazed how the 12th gen seems to be ahead in frames per sec in some instances compare to 13th like wow.
ОтветитьThe Gpu was doing alot of the work, should have brought down the settings if wish to test the CPUs.
ОтветитьBuying 9900k a few years ago was a great decision. Thanks for the tests, I will update only the video card.
Ответить11900k has left the chat
Ответитьlook at 1% lows not averages.
ОтветитьThe thing that stands out the most to me here that makes all the difference is the GPU more than the CPU. All 4 CPUs did a great job running these games but the Rtx 4090 doesn’t mess around, it just kicks ass and eats frames.
ОтветитьTLDR gaming CPUs are a scam.
ОтветитьWe just gonna skip 11900k🧐
Ответитьis it possible for a 4090 at 4k to be the bottle neck? how about 1080p?
ОтветитьGreat job!
Can you add another comparison with hyperthreading off ?
E.g. 9900k feels much smoother with ht off imo.
