I wish there were board games where you can't talk. When I play with my friends, they talk a lot to the point where I have to go & we don't even get a lot of games in.

Which game is this ? I am interesting in purchasing.

I remember doing something like this one time when I was young during a family game night of Clue.

This reminds me of one of my favorite times ever playing a board game! I was playing this game called Munchkin, and it's like Monopoly it's got a lot of themed variations. My dad, uncle, and I were playing the space one, and we drew this card called the "Space Mime". It had a unique gimmick of not letting any of the players talk until it is discarded, lest they discard a card. But here's the best part. There was a DISAGREEMENT over how the attack scores were calculated! So we were sitting there, for 5 or so minutes, making angry faces at each other and violently tapping cards until we figured it out. It was so memorable!

We have one friend we simply cannot play Codenames with. No matter how hard she tries, she can't control her facial expressions. We're pretty sure she doesn't even need to clue, you can simply cold read what her cards are by running your finger above the board.

And then afterwords they proceed to say that the game is bland because it’s just hot or cold

OMG i hate feeling like rule shark but whenever I'm playing games like this or just one I always have to make sure the spymaster isn't saying stuff like "oh this is hard or remember your last one"

One time we were playing Code Names on Tabletop Simulator and my friend said "Animal 2". There were three clear animals on the board, along with 3-4 ADDITIONAL words that could mean animal (like "kid", "calf", "chick" etc).

I recently won a game of codename because the clue giver burst out laughing when I shared my thoughts on which card they probably meant. It was only related to their clue via a... Naughty connotation, but a pretty obvious one. I had been genuine, I probably would have chosen that word.
But with their laughter, it was clear they hadn't thought of that connection before. I tried not to let it influence me, but obviously I looked for alternatives harder and ended up finding the correct one.

Its funny how different are his facial expresion in this video, make me thing he just is 2 different persons who look same XD, and plus he always is using the serious side make harder to think is the same doing the other one.

I think Code Names works best online where the clue givers are completely muted the whole time and can only type in the clue/hit send lol. I’ve watched live streams of it being played like that, and it’s super funny to watch from a player’s perspective first, overthinking the simplest clues, and then watch from the clue giver’s perspective as they freak out 😂
