At least this lock held up to all picking efforts apart from the bump key. So good lock nontheless. Considering a bump key requires getting a balank and filing it expertly to get it to work - not as easy as two paperclips...

I have a door lock at home that i need to jiggle dramatically as it always sticks. I have a few spare keys. I think I will file off the stop point and add a few sheep tail bands as shown here. It will make it much easier. I won't need to file the rest down to a bump key though. I'll basically just replace the stop point shoulder with the rubber so it springs much easier.

The difference between British/European locks and US locks, in Britain when we lock something up we want it to stay locked, in America locks are just made for show because most of them will just be shot off anyway if the burglar is determined.

Masterlock branded products over here are sold in the discount stores, for a couple of your dollars, they're that bad.

Squire is the defacto best brand in the UK for padlocks/shackle locks/bike locks etc, and Ultion for doors.

US brand locks are all trash.

ONE QUESTION: I thought the whole idea of this was to create this key when you're locked out, but- How am I supposed to file the key correctly when I don't have the master key to go by? I thought that was the whole point of trying to get in to a locked door? That you've lost the key.!!!! So how do I know what to go by, I'VE LOST THE KEY!!!
