This is one of the songs that made me love the musical's idea of Burr's character and relate to it. I wait for things too, things I usually don't get. Plus the song is so pretty anyways. And this animatic (though old) is lovely.

When i first watched Wait For It, i thought it was just Burr singing, but it’s actually his jealousy of how Hamilton got above him so much faster than him.

Personally I'd like to talk about how this shows a bit contrast between the approach of Burr and Hamilton, they both fear losing those they care about but while Hamilton uses that to motivate him to do anything and everything to protect them where as Burr is far too cautious and waits till he knows how things will play out before choosing a side

The fact I can actually feel Burrs anger here

The absolute disgust when he says “Georgia” is hilarious

While watching the musical I realized something cool! Near the end of the song, Burr stops singing and stands on the stage, frozen as if hes waiting for something to happen. Eventually though, he seems to notice that nothing will happen, so, looking disappointed, he shifts to a more menacing position and the music stops without whatever he was waiting for happening. This is a metaphor to his life.

Here 6 years later to say that when this song plays in my head, this is still what I imagine. Love your stuff still.

If you noticed at first, Theodoisa is the only one who doesn’t have blacked out eyes, i think that’s symbolic to she’s the only one who understands what Burr is like going through and what he’s trying to do or be.

Burrs ansisters have blacked out eyes, Symbolizing they are trying to make him live up to standard… Blind to what Burr actually wants

At first, Hamilton has no eyes symboling that he is blind to what burr is trying to accomplish. In the end his eyes appear again. Though Burr turned his back in Hamilton, he doesn’t realize Hamilton is had good intentions
