Thanks for the (re)upload GLP. Heres my take: Ive been a fan of the prince series right from SOT, while I do get that the trilogy concluded, I guess we all were excited when a new prince game was announced, and we had certain expectations. While this game definitely took risks by deviating from the usual 3rd-person style and moving back to a side-scroller (hearkening back to the ORIGINAL price of persia), the game definitely looks smooth and the fights look interesting. I think a lot of people will have issues with the story as it seems a bit incoherent every now and again. What exactly made Vahram a villain here? He had his inheritance wrongly stolen from him, and as far as I could see his ultimate motivations werent "evil" per se. Yes he did want to kill the prince out of vengeance, but after that he only wanted to save persia from the destruction that he saw. Also the characters werent fleshed out enough...who was the old man? Who was that random girl in the beginning? Also does no-one seem curious that suddenly our MC is headbutting Primordial Gods and taking hits that should blow him to pieces like its nothing? (Even in the cut scenes). The ending part confused me the most...Vahram was being sucked into the void..so he took out the heart and held it up..then he dies..then the heart gets sucked into the void anyway, so he neednt have done that...also what about all the creatures he faces? That creature who was the mount of the forest queen said something about a secret that Sargon held deep within, that wasnt addressed either. And lets not forgot the blue-masked elephant in the room who disappeared in the beginning and was never heard from again, Redjan. And at the end, where did the little Vahram come from??? Did they snatch him from the past and bring him to the future???? The end left me with more questions than answers.

I dunno, the games flashy enough with more than a little influence from Anime and God of War (Orod's weapon change, Vahram's samurai fighting style, "power of friendship" final attack by the MC), but I think the storytelling and narrative here kinda let it down.

6.5/10 for me.

Curious about the long awaited next installment in the Prince of Persia franchise but wary of the flashy changes made to the formula so you are waiting for the clapping seals' wave of recency bias to pass? Well wait no more.


In the new Prince of Persia game the prince is the villain, everybody is magic, you kill the king, you claim nobody should have the power of a god then tell everyone to wait here while you a random nobody guard who has no reason or context to be the protagonist in the story other than having been designated the protagonist and center of every universe by the writers murder most of your friends with your ridiculous anime powers you just sort of always had then you proceed to steal all the remaining god powers for yourself, then at the moment of truth you refuse to give the power you stole back for the greater good, because if you do you won't be special anymore...and that won't do because the world revolves around you and strains to make sure your single minded perspectives are never wrong or challenged in any way meaningful or otherwise....
Hows that mentor of yours doing? who cares. We forgot about her pretty quick, despite having time powers. And where did the voldo woman go? This is it fair to say game was barely a step above a mobile game in visuals, talent, budget, and vibe. The story was enough to make you feel sorry for the people who have this game as their introduction to the franchise. I hope it was at the very least it felt good to play controls wise or I'll start feeling sorry for the person who soldiered though that fanfic first draft for the capture footage. You are the real hero.

Sometimes writers need to be told in no uncertain terms "NO!" and sent back to square one. That whole story was awful. These modern writers need to learn to think about what their stories say and consider the potential takeaways instead of just how it looks on the surface. Or better yet just write better. Really makes you wonder the AI taking writers jobs is really that bad a thing, if this is the quality of their work.

there are Seven Immortals, right? 2 abstained from fighting you for plot reasons, 1 died in a cutscene, and 2 you fought.... so where is Radjam? and i think you forgot some cutscenes that reveal that the young boy is a young Vahram.

looks like it's not canon to the Sands of Time saga

This beautiful friendship between Sargon and the Prince is well done.

A nice game over all but the story is a little bit incoherent and moving a bit fast. Gameplay is ok. I think it's enjoyable but definitely not fully live up to the expectation

Great storyline. Really moving and I like how they gave time powers to someone else. I have complaints about the 2d environment. Prince of persia is meant to be more open and deadly. Miss the time powers that we can use and definitely miss the main character from Sands of time trilogy. He was the face of the series. Love the new characters though and playing as someone else. All in all I would give it a 5/10. People may think that it's unfair but those gamers who played POP sands of time on ps2 will probably agree.

ok, this is seriously bugging me. 




What the heck happens to that Radjen chick (the one in the metal mask)? She vanishes after you part at the entrance, and I can't tell if she reappears at any point after that - there doesn't appear to be a mandated boss fight against her, but she doesn't appear in any subsequent cutscenes after Vahran turns the immortals against Sargon, and Sargon claims she's amongst the dead at the ending, but I can't see any cutscenes of her dying? Does she perish in a side quest or something?

Poor Vahram, he never asked to be corrupted and evil
