I believe YT censored my original comment (which is a violation of freedom of speech, and I wasn't being malicious). Anyway:

I can't remember if I played the beanstalk mission in W3D, but it might be the absolute worst mission in WUM. It just doesn't work with WUM's Parachute, they could've adapted it, but adding a short-lasting Jetpack is just a joke, yeah.

There were W******e SBs in W3D and the G2 games too, such as Worms 2 (although may be cut in updated releases). The G2 SB isn't even pitch-shifted. I wanted to add something here, but I fear YT will slam-dunk my comment.

Sequel having an absurd increase in poison damage just reminds me of Dark Souls 2 lol

I really feel that sentiment about an inferior version of a game becoming the only easily available version. It's exactly how I feel about Yakuza Kiwami 2

Also, for the record, while Worms 3D isn't available in any store, it seems to be considered Abandoware and can easily be found online in abandoware sites!

This is, to my knowledge, and ive been literally looking for a month, the only video in English that details the differences between Worms 3D, 4 and ultimate mayhem. It's pretty convenient you posted it rn!

Finding a video by a trans person who really likes Worms and specially the 3D games makes me feel like I just found a long lost sibling lol.

This was definitely an interesting video. I do still consider Ultimate Mayhem to be the best 3D Worms game though I do wish the games that it remakes were added to GOG at least. I have to admit that I never beat the Worms 3D campaign in WUM and I just brushed it off as "skill issue" without knowing about how much the games are just incompatible (specially Worm and the Beanstalk). Though I personally still prefer the way 4 and Ultimate control over 3D, specially when it comes to the bird-view camera. I also wish the 3D weapons were added to Ultimate, specially since there are leftovers from it in the final game.

Though this just left me wondering... what do you think about Under Siege? I personally think it's the worst 3D Worms game and its whole building gimmick is just really poorly implemented, to the point that a lot of the missions feel like the creators thought the gimmick worked better than it actually did. If you thought missions like Placeholder were boring and repetitive, wait until you see "Enemy at the Gates" or the mission from the Oriental campaign where you have to essentially surround a whole map with buildings.

in terms of the girder, i feel like it would've been best if it didn't take up your turn, but you had the option to make it large at the cost of your turn

What I don't like about Ultimate Mayhem is that the soundbank for cyberworm was re-recorded instead of being ported from 3D like the others, the new one sounds much worse unfortunately.

I will say this - I hate how worms look in Mayhem, in Worms 3D they were a perfect mix of cute and cartoony, how it's supposed to be, but in Mayhem they look sooo over the top goofy and idiotic and honestly, just MUCH uglier, I hate it honestly

Ultimate Mayhem has made a lot of questionable decision like removing soundtrack variation (and mostly the better ones imo) and some unnecessary sound effects. The whistle after the bazooka shot alone is enough for me not to want to play the game

This might seem like some dumb thing to complain about but when this game came out i didn't even know about 3D and 4. So I was actually curious about what this game was "improving" on.

dang, I had recently bought ultimate mayhem because i thought it would be a way to genuinely replay the original Worms 3D which I really liked when it was new. Worms 4 Mayhem on the other hand i found to be mediocre. i might be swayed to look for a torrent by the end of this video

The fixed damage on dymmite into shotgun thing was a staple for me but I kinda hated it because it felt like it could oversimplify the game, love the content by the way.

I know this is unrelated to the 3D games but I really feel games like Worms 2D, Gunbound and the like are a quite unexplored market, I wish we had more iterations on that formula. At the same time though, I do understand this is not exactly an easy type of game to make feel unique and preperly different enough to not be like "worms from Wish"
Also you talk so eager about Worms 3D it makes me wanna play it, which is a big deal coming from me

In all my years of fun games and such. Worms 3D Games is one of the best things i enjoyed. from PC Till PS3. Such a shame they don't make more of those open world games anymore. even though there's still some people or modders playing. i do miss the fun times.

Worms 3D was so much fun as i liked the weapons a lot more. uspecially the Uzi. the missions are tiresome. I Bought all 3D Worms game on my pc at a bargain bin. a triple worm bundle game. a 3 in 1. along with sonic heroes and mega collection for my bday years ago. i was enjoying it.

There's like a huge difference between 3d and 4 mayhem. but worms forts under siege is most enjoyable than ever. i'm not much of a mission kinda guy. i'm a free weapons guy. use the Zookas. fire punchs. even many crazy weapons. crate shower. i may not have my friends play online but it was one of the best games i played. the AI is so crazy about it. especially the flying hippos.

Worms Ultimate mayhem came with a 3 in one game package on worms collection at PS3. I Still have the game. there's a huge difference between 4 mayhem and ultimate mayhem. sounds. voices. weapons. and stuff. Team weapons are really cool but unfortunately a wasted potential for everyone's fav worms 3d game. such a shame really that it would've been your life saver had it not been the gauge or limits. i would've called it easy finisher. but in the end they won't allow it. would've made more sense if say it can be used every 1 or 2 turns per usage and you can use it many times as you want as a special kind of weapon.

i loved playing all of them. enjoying is what makes me feel happy. such a shame we don't have more kinds of 3d worms game anymore since team17 is neglecting them greatly as well as ubisoft to rayman and capcom to mega man games. hence why i pray hope one day we'll have an epic fun game identical to worms 3d games. cuz they're toony. the weapons are destructive and voices are fun!

i still have the worms 3d games but i sure wish for new worms game that is as epic than any other AAA Games
