Autumn Variations took me a few listens to really click with. It’s become one of my favourite Ed albums but it didn’t immediately resonate with me. This song is one of the ones that hit me on the first listen though. It’s my favourite on the album, and it’s been very healing for the last bits of lingering pain I had for a past relationship from a couple years ago. I really hope the next time I see Ed, he plays this one <3

So sad...this song brings back memories from 1994 my divorce I never knew I was going to have to end...3 children we had together I knew it was going to be very hard 😢very painful. But, I had to do it. Couldn't handle the adultery anymore from my children father. I've been alone for 39 years was married for 12.

I Really do enjoy my single life after all these years. It really was hard at first to get use to because my intentions were to be married til death. But, I kept myself busy-really helped. Vacation time really helps also to get away from it all. If, you can stay single it Really Is the Best Life ever. No hurt comes with being single.

I have a lot of good friends also and keeps my mind off my past. So, divorce was a good choice for me. Cuz my ex husband is still on the dating process. This is what you call an immature person and very selfish cause-not thinking of his own children's hurt at the time. It really Is a hurt still for my adult children I can still see it at times...

Love how this song starts slow and kind of monotonous and then how it starts to build up in the last part. This makes the emotions build up the same, until at the end they intensify that much that it gets me everytime. The line "All I am is flesh and bone, why's your heart so freezing cold", so simple, yet makes me end up in tears each time that I listen to it. Never have I heard a song that had this effect. This song is a new, unique experience❤
