Good 4U!! What is that thing on the bench made from a Wiser's bottle? Cheers from the West Kootenays!😁🇨🇦🍺
ОтветитьTeaching is the gift that keeps on giving ❤
ОтветитьGood for you brother
ОтветитьI used to mow lawns back in the day for my friends and family...FOR FREE! And no one seem to appreciate it, all I got was more complaints just for doing "free" work for someone. I QUIT TOO!
I don't blame you bud, you try to do what's right and all you wind up getting is bullshit complaints and headaches!
I'm getting too old here anyway and considering hiring someone to do my own lawn.
There's been countless times your videos really helped me out since I'm not savvy on working on lawn mowers...I suck as a matter of fact to be honest. So thank you again for your videos, they sure helped me, that's for damn sure!
I say to Hell with your complainers!!!
This is not an airport. You do not need to announce your departure. Bye!
ОтветитьDon't blame you one bit .thanks for continuing the great educational videos.
ОтветитьHopefully someone here can help.. i bought a polesaw and it wont start, i didnt realize the choke was in the wrong position, will this cause my engine to flood? It sounds like it wants to go after letting it sit for 2 hours but wont turn over
ОтветитьI've come to the same conclusion, my friend! I got into floor covering in 1972. Since then, people have become much more rude and demanding. Somehow they've come to the conclusion that I will keep my store open as long as they feel like looking around, then I can drive out to their house and measure it - if I don't charge anything for the service; then they inform me that I need to figure their quote in five different ways because they haven't decided what they want yet. Then they will compare my price with three other quotes from people who each invested 6 hours of their time and then maybe, they will award the bid to me - IF they conclude that I'm not making any money off of them. And since they waited until November 15th to demand my services, they are also demanding that I get the materials shipped in from 2.500 miles away and then installed before the holidays. If anything goes wrong, then it'll be my fault! I just retired and I had to get that off my chest. I feel better now. Thank you.
ОтветитьIt's a tragedy that people these days are so selfish and impolite that you can't even help them without them bitching about it. I'm very glad to hear that you will still make videos though, I have learned so much from your channel it has made me way more confident in fixing my own things. Thank you sir and God speed.
ОтветитьThanks dude! I totally agree with you. I worked in the bicycle industry for over two decades…almost exactly the same story. I really appreciate your content. Please keep it coming!
Ответитьlol
ОтветитьI tried doing small engine work and auto I know what ur saying all to well. I went above and beyond my work is very good work. Dont want to pay for it though right idk people.
ОтветитьVideo record the entire process, then watch them cry when they realize you are smarter than them
ОтветитьI had a building company turning over several million per year and about 15 employees 20y ago and just like you I woke up one morning and said get fucked to everyone for all the reasons you described. Since 2007 I have had NO employees and turn over a fraction of what I used too digging dirt and I love it. Here's the bullshit truth of the matter I make about the same money. I know longer port chainsaws for people either! I just can not be fucked.
ОтветитьDon't get carried away and start drinking too much
ОтветитьUnfortunately this tends to be true in western society. People buy entry level equipment where spare parts and labor quickly will rival just buying a new and shiny big box store unit. Some diagnostics get very complicated with modern electronics especially fully electric units where the method is 'replace parts until working' - and the parts are not cheap. Broken rear handle/tank on a beater ms260 is not economically viable for a home owner compared with a new unit between our hourly rate and the spare parts.
If I spend 3 hours on a base model battery trimmer they could've gotten a new one. Luckily we can try parts from shelf units, but in the future we won't have older battery models on hand for diagnostics use. It's a shirt show. Stihl in my country won't pick up the phone for hours on end even on their dealer-only number. I'm thankful riding mowers haven't gotten tons of electronics yet, they are still fun and worth fixing. Some customers don't know when to call it quits fixing old shit they refuse to service though.
Customers are so bad after covid in every industry, they dont deserve services.
Ответитьoh thank god
ОтветитьYip sorry to hear that I got them here in Scotland and there known as Bell Ends always winning got something to say about nothing they know feckin cry baby ass wipes 🏴✊🏻
ОтветитьWhat are ya gonna do for money now??
ОтветитьI feel your pain brother
ОтветитьI hear you mate.
I’ll tell what’s really funny - not! - is that people plunk down Huge amounts of money on whatever, which inevitably breaks down too, but bitch the most over something that hardly costs anything.
I retired as a Head Chef Of over 45 years, and people think that 30-40 bucks they spent entitles them to be just horrible to servers!
Good bye Service Industry.
Make your own food!
Thanks for sticking with the videos I enjoy them and you know your shit brother!!! 🇺🇸👍
ОтветитьIt's unfortunately how society has become
ОтветитьSteve - That's too bad, but I totally get it. I ran my own HVAC company for 18 years; it was a small shop, and I didn't get many of those customers, but I did occasionally and when I did I would follow the best piece of business advice I ever got, and it was from a woman. In essence, here's what she told me: When you get customers like that, send them to your competition. Wow, did that ever work. I would always complete the work I was doing for them, present the bill, and get paid(I used to demand cash when it came to these type of customers. Yes, I did have to take some of them to small claims court and I always won) then, I would tell them: "Don't you dare ever think about calling me again!" It was win, win since I got paid, I got rid of an undesirable customer, I handicapped my competition with them, and it was OH SO SATISFYING!! Another positive is that it sent a message to to the public not to try to get your bill reduced by this guy. My advice: instead of going out of business because of those jerks, do what I did. Hope this changes your mind. BTW, great videos! I'm having a beer to celebrate you, dude!
ОтветитьKeep up the good work ! You have shown us soooo many tips and solve our problems. I am happy to watch and learn from your videos. Never quit Steve.
😊
Welcome to America
Ответитьanother "influencer" .. just what the world needs
ОтветитьDealing with the public is always a challenge. Thanks so much for being there during Hurricane Fiona for me! 😀
ОтветитьI used to repair guitars. Dealing with the customers was such a pain. That is why I'm good to waitresses. They deal with idiots all day.
ОтветитьYip
It’s the generation of self entitled know every thing about nothing generation. I get the same crap in my line of work.
Have a drink
ОтветитьWinge winge.
ОтветитьRock on bud , I'm in a different service industry and deal with the same kind of crap. I closed my shop that was in the same location for 52 years. I had a belly full of it all!!
ОтветитьYeah I can totally relate. I just dropped off a bid and I hear ..... "we can do it cheeper by ourselves." Ok . The exact same shit.
ОтветитьWhat?
ОтветитьSorry der guy...
ОтветитьStill my favorite Canadian. Ryan Reynolds and Gretzky can stick it
ОтветитьCan't blame ya.
ОтветитьYour the man steve!!!!! I watch all your videos and subscribed. Awesome 👌 thanks buddy!!!
ОтветитьI just subscribed today gave it a thumbs up looking forward to more knowledge
ОтветитьSorry to hear your closing you have helped so many people. That's the same reason I quit working on people's cars years ago.
ОтветитьHave a beer. Relax.
Raise your rates, tune up, fifty or seventy five dollars. They want to bitch, go else where. If they say okay, give em' a small break. Lawn mowers, a hundred bucks. Catch my drift. And video the piece of equipment before and after, like these lawn care guys.
Oh wait, you said you were done. Hey, have another beer.
Or, this video will shut them up? Not.
You have a great day, sir. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, right.
Just down the highway from you in Duncan. I'm retired now but had a couple of wood shop businesses for years. I finally learned to 'qualify' my customers ... especially women... and if I detected they'll be a problem of some sort or other when it came to the final product, I'd just direct them to a competitor. On the other side particularly good or loyal customers would get preferred treatment and would always come back. Much easier to do now because all the old shop guys are retired or gone and fewer service shops and people around, so you can be picky.
ОтветитьDon't blame you at all brother... I'm in my own business also.... people wear on a feller... God bless you and your family
ОтветитьI understand your frustration. I hate to see you go. I've learned a lot from you.
