Always wanted a Yamaha Motif. Only Synthesizer I have is the MicroKorg I use that for Playing Talkbox with.

Well done but the lack of polyphony will arrive when layering especially pads with several layers. I do prefer 256 voices polyphony instruments.

Motif XF . Amazing keyboard.

I am aware that Yamaha discontinued that keyboard, but don't matter. Still rather use it to this day anyway.

I have just bought a Motif XS6 but the Motif XF looks really stunning in it's black finish. Even though the Motif XS
sounds pail in comparison to XF I do also have Halion 7 after upgrading from version 6 and using Halion
was what lead me onto the path to buy a Yamaha workstation. Unfortunately some of the new high quality
sounds on Motif XF seem exclusive to that generation because with Montage some of the sounds like the
saxophones Yamaha went back to the same saxophones from Motif ES however in a DAW setup if your
using a synth/workstation to record backing tracks most people are likely to maybe only use a few of the
internal sounds and use sample libraries like Halion or Kontakt as VST intruments tend to be better at
sounding more realistic compared to hardware but with any generation of Motif it's cool that via USB
you have the ability to control your DAW and VST instruments using the assignable controls on your
Motif, I'm even not sure if the Montage allows you to hit play or record from the keyboard like you can
with Motif.
