2 cops, years ago, had done worse to me when they were both frisking me. I did not even realize it until they left. I was shocked. They stopped me as I was driving in a very empty uninhabited area, at night trying to find my classmate"s house because without my knowing one of my headlights was burned. They asked for my driver's license, registration etc, I gave it all to them, but then they told me to get out of the car. They put me on the trunk of my car to pat me down but I felt violated. They were smiling too. They let me go after telling me to fix the light. It was my first time being stopped and had no idea if they had the right to touch me or not and how they should touch me but I definitely felt harrassed esp when both of them did it, one after the other, I felt something was eerie. I did not resist. I cooperated bc I was afraid they may go on a power trip and arrrest me for ...nothing...basically. I was also a foreigner studying in the US at that time.

You instinctively want to pull away because it's a stranger touching you in a very private part of your body, but at the same time it's an authority figure and you're afraid any objection will only make things worse for you so you don't dare speak up. There's also always that doubt that, surely someone in this position is a professional who knows what they're doing so then you doubt whether YOU are just being unreasonable, despite feeling it's so wrong deep in your gut. Thank god for the other cop stepping in. Not only did he stop this, but it also assures the lady that, no, she's not being unreasonable: the touch was inappropriate.

UPDATE : In November 2020, Gelnett was charged with official misconduct and drug trafficking for allegedly seizing marijuana while handling cases but then giving it to a woman he was in a relationship with.

He resigned from the department and pleaded guilty to official misconduct in 2021.
And in 2022 The city has agreed to pay $50,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a woman who claimed she was groped by a Louisville Metro Police officer Gelnett during a 2019 traffic stop.

That cop is still working for the dept! NO excuse he is a rooky! That is clearly a sexual assault! Just wow.

The real question is : would she have made the same statements about being groped if the officer had been black? I'm calling out racism because the woman is black (BLM) and the officer was white.

Happy to have the taxpayers pay for the lawsuit instead of the actual cop that felt her up.

I think this is lack of training. I would be willing to bet a lot of money that the kid wasn’t doing it to get his thrills. While yes, it shouldn’t have happened and the cop should have had more training, I don’t think that they did it intentionally to be sexual and I think someone is just trying to get some money.

Cops today are corrupted and it's quite disgusting actually.
