Why I Don't Use VLC

It might be worth taking another look at VLC, i still use it. have not had hang up's like it did a few years ago. I been using it for 20 years lol! it works well for me, and Ill stick with it.... yes its a heavy weight compared to others, but I have plenty of resources, and not really worried about bloat.... just my 2 cents

I use VLC on windows but not on Linux. In windows, I can click on any video file which comes up full screen automatically.

What a useless video. Never heard of file associations. Just double click the file and it plays in VLC. End of story. MS Office apps like Excel and Word have incredible complexity and most users will use less that 5%. So we stop using them too? It's free. Say thank you and STFU.

I want to play a FLV file, what should I use?

At one time VLC was really good but it took a dump on me and will NOT play a DVD. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled and it does the same thing, nothing. I spent hours looking for a fix and tried many and got nothing. That is why I am watching your video. I have looked online and found many so-called free players. Click on them and then they ask for money to use the program. Why trust a company that claims its free and then ask you for money. IF a company is going to lie to you from the start, can you really trust them?

i dont love vlc or something, but there just isnt any better free alternative and its good enough. Both on pc and also on my phone
1, it doesnt lag, 2 it has the basic features working perfect (buttons etc.), formats and also fixing audio&subtitles if there's something needing fixing

I havent used VLC since way back when. Windows media player always worked fine for me. But now I have to find a new one to use since I'm on Linux now. Thanks for the info, even though its 3 years old.

Windows 7 is the G.D. sh1t man. Most popular operating system second only to Windows XP.

2023 and I can't stand VLC UI. It i sjust too horrible, useless. But I stay with it because it can open almost every format.

Splash Player from mirillis for windows is really nice one that most people haven't heard about that i've used on HTPC, but i'll always have vlc installed on my main rig
