I thought he started t.v. in 1979, not 1989, with Bob Vila. I know, Norm said this, that his business pick up BIG TIME because of being on t.v. in the late 70s, early 80s. It is amazing what t.v. can do for a person and company and a sad reflection on the country.
God Bless!
I have fond memories from childhood of norm and his "Biscuits".
ОтветитьSo, What Really did Happened to Norm Abram From The New Yankee Workshop?
ОтветитьYankee not Yankees
ОтветитьThis was a waste in that it didn’t answer the question. 😢😢
ОтветитьMissed you
ОтветитьNorm's precision is what amazes me- as a machinist I really appreciate it.
ОтветитьWell, I watched the whole video and still did not find out what happened to Norm. Got some history, some facts, but nothing current.
ОтветитьI recently helped a friend fix the dry rot to his house at Discovery Bay. He had no idea how dangerous his situration was. I fixed the leak to the house by first building a scaffold with 2x4 then I removed the window and did a proper house wrap and stop the water leak. I surprised my High School friend at my skills and It’s almost done. The drywall is up and I use lite weight 20 min compound to do the finish. All that left is to use the hopper to restore the texture.
ОтветитьIt was always enjoyable & educational watching his show building things , really miss it. Hope all is well with him.
ОтветитьI remember when Norm made a commercial for Sears Craftsmen tools and got banished from the realm. I can no longer look at anything mainstream, if He came back OK. I saw what they did. I'm sorry I was wrong, it was Bob Vila.
ОтветитьWow what a talented man. Love watching TOH 😊
ОтветитьSo…What did happen to him???
ОтветитьWhat really happened? We listened to Wikipedia, that's what happened.
ОтветитьI'm glad to see that he's still around. We watched "This Old House" for years, beginning with the first episode.
ОтветитьSoooooooo, we're not going to get an answer to the question???
ОтветитьShow was good however he had the use of tools most people could not afford like one episode a great big door hinge fixture it was nice to see but very unpractical that's about when I quit watching Tommy a lot better but norm did tell a good story😊
ОтветитьNorm was my inspiration ! I turned my 38k home into a 355k home ! Thanks Norm !
ОтветитьI saw a tribute/retirement program with the This Old House crew and Norm looking old and embarrassed and not sure what to say. That was last year. He is retired, according to that. This video is just click bait and doesn't even offer any new info (well, two wives).
ОтветитьVery surprised to see almost 10 minutes on Norm without mentioning Bob Vila.
ОтветитьI like to see Norm build projects, taking pointers from a skilled craftsman.
ОтветитьI have lots of VHS tapes of these shows! VHS TAPES! LOL!
ОтветитьThis is click bait....doesn't address what really happened to Norm. Probably as simple as he just decided to retire, but click bait title implies there is more to learn...
ОтветитьI have always liked and admired Norm Abram, he is a very talented master artisan and down to earth man. My family has enjoyed watching his many projects over the years.
ОтветитьThis should have been like 90 seconds long.
ОтветитьWhen we would work on our house and run into a problems. We always ask ourselves, What world Norm do?.
ОтветитьI never got into The New Yankee Workshop but I very much enjoyed seeing him every week on This Old House.
ОтветитьNorm is a legend on public television, he's a big reason that this OLD House lasted and entertained all of us for years
ОтветитьBaloney that he disappeared in 2009...he was on This Old House until last year. This is just click bait.
ОтветитьYou got your dates wrong.
ОтветитьI could watch Norm and Tom Silva all day.
ОтветитьI wonder what really happened to Norm... this video didn't tell us... what a waste of time...
ОтветитьHe's 75, Old sick and worn out. A Lifetime of Carpentry is NOT easy. The semi-manual labor can be brutal and tedious. As you progress up the supervisory career ladder you get the job's stress piled on you. That takes a toll on your health. As you get older and older those little accumulated injuries begin to manifest themselves and join together to be more serious health issues, lack of mobility being one, constant pain the other and a constant desire to keep doing things and creating things for others but you can't because of the pain. Then if you couldn't be successful enough to build a nice retirement nest egg, you end up on Disability surviving on scraps as the World slowly creeps away from your grip.
ОтветитьMy mind goes back to the late '70's and early '80s and watching Bob Vila and Norm on "This Old House". To me, those early episodes were the best for the average homeowner. They usually worked with existing structures and fixtures and the program didn't have the high-dollar backing from the industry.
I appreciated Norm's expertise even back then; after watching him on one episode, and with very little experience of my own, I got up the nerve and installed a bathroom sink upside-down.
Typical click-bait title. The people behind this video have no idea what happened to Norm. They just used his name to get clicks.
ОтветитьLove Norm and wish I could afford his vast array of tools, many of his furniture videos require some very expensive tools.
ОтветитьNever answered the question of what happened to him.
ОтветитьI love Norm. This Old House was my favorite show, it was the first of all that came after, but it was also the best.
ОтветитьNorm was always the "average guy" type and made This Old House watchable unlike Bob Villa who is a giant penis with ears.
ОтветитьWhen I used to watch “Cheers,” ever time the gang said, “NORM!” I wasn’t thinking about the fuzzy headed fat guy sitting at the bar… 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьI learned a lot from watching his shows.
ОтветитьThe difference between Norm and me? Norm had the tools. I had the tools. Norm had the talent. I had none. So, I just watched, enjoyed, and admired his work for all of these years.
ОтветитьSo , you took 8 minutes to admit you have no clue what he’s doing now . Wasted time for me 2 times cause after watching (1st loss of time) I needed to call you on your bullshit , ( 2nd loss of my time) now I made your day good cause you’re smiling in some dusty corner of your cellar safe from my glaring eyes …..
ОтветитьIt’s “This” Old House….
ОтветитьI really enjoyed his show, what a carpenter. ❤❤❤
ОтветитьI am no carpenter but watched his show when ever it was available. Maybe a hundred episodes or more
ОтветитьGreat video I have watched norm since 1979
ОтветитьNorm was a hero to me. I started watching TOH just after buying my first fixer upper in 1989.
