How does one get inkscape to draw a star instead of a polygon?

I do freehand in vector software sometimes. If I'm doing Celtic knotwork, I find it easier to draw the pattern, then clean up nodes to smooth my lines. I get what you're saying about freehanding, it's just what works for certain things for me.

How did you get all the nodes on the star i do it and only get 2 you have it in each point

Very late getting to this video lol. Can you change and bend the top line of a semi-circle? Very very new to Inkscape, I want to get a wavy line at the top of a semi-circle…….if that makes sense. Easy to follow tutorials though….nice
