I feel like people just want formulaic "villain of the week" episodes with superpowers. Preferably in high school setting.

For the take about Chase, really I think the problem was bad timing. The OP was introduced at a really weird moment in the story, before the Duwang Gang was actually pursuing Kira in earnest. That didn't happen until several episodes later, and by that point you only had a few episodes of the OP actually feeling like it fit.

I overall enjoyed part 6 but think it’s baffling to ignore its overall pacing and readability. Maybe I’m truly alone on this but I think ur glazing. If I wanted to read a light novel I would

I feel the only reason people are mad at road roller is because Dio screams it. It's only one example of the many times Dio uses his surroundings to attack. He used knives, a cop, a street sign and more. He's resourceful throughout the fight

idk if this is a hot take, but every stand ability doesn't need to be explained in microscopic detail. like some of these powers can rewrite reality its self or work in an abstract intangible way. i think stands like Gold experience Requiem King Crimson or Wonder of U even dragons dream, are great where they seem to have powers beyond the initial explanation or have powers that are hard to understand with conventional logic. think about how truly brilliant and powerful most jojo's are especially end of series a stand that does something like shooting missiles out of my bellybutton are not going to work

What the fuck made Josefumi fuse with Kira? was it this property from the morioh lands or the new rokakaka? apparently as kira's body lacked his balls and josuke had 4 this doesn't sound like the so called "Equivallent exchange" as josefumi had no problem with his genitals... I would say part 1 is not boring but very simple. It had a small hook with the supernatural stuff and standard powers being introduced, Hamon made it interesting. But other than that, it's very plain. It's a nice story to enjoy for the short term which works since part 1 is rather short. If it went longer, I would say it gets boring but I feel that Araki did a good job of not prologing part 1 longer than it lasted. I enjoyed ot very much but after experiencing it once, I found it a bit difficult to enjoy the twists and turns the story gave.

People say many things about Kira and Josuke, but they are the perfect villain vs hero, with their abilities contrasting each other. Kira explosions leave nothing behind, while Josuke can construct back things with a single shatter. Also, Kira is a psycho who kills people, while Josuke is a sweet guy who can heal others but himself.

People who says X jojo villain isn't actually bad (for example Funny Valentine) are actually the type of people that those villains would have manipulated, used and end up dead because of their naïveness.

I don't understand the Part 2 criticism, but I can try to guess. They said meandering, and the counter was that it's fast paced, jumping around the world....maybe that was what they meant, in that it doesn't seem as tightly focused on an A to B route from the beginning, that instead it goes through 3 villains, then to a race against time and then a final showdown. Personally, I think it works great like that, a steady progression of breadcrumbs and motivations. But just a guess as to what they subjectively enjoyed less than part 1.

When you look at part one as dios backstory it's actually pretty great.

Chase is nice, I think people just hates it or used to hate it because it replaced Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town

Hmmm, I never thought of Diavolo's end as too much or too little
But, now that I think about it, it really makes sense, if his power is twisting fate, he facing the ultimate fate of death for infinity just makes sense

The first time I watched jojo , I had a friend that told me to skip parts 1 and 2. I watched 6 episodes of part 3 got bored and dropped it. Fast forward to present time I sat down and watched everything in correct order. Parts 1 and mostly 2 are my favorite parts

The Doctor Who comparison seems good from the surface but is wrong when you look at it. Doctor Who is incredibly episodic for such a long running series - like an American comic book any story could be someone's first and the writers know it. There are a lot of call backs but they're explained within the episode. Having a continuous story throughout a series of DW is very rare, while in Jojo it's almost guaranteed and the focus of each part's arc one of this franchises' strengths.

People saying they don't like chase is so weird to me because while watching joios it was one of my favourite openings

Ive never been a huge fan of stone ocean personally, and I know most probably wont agree with my takes but heres my reasons.

-the whole jailbreak idea was just boring and uninteresting for me
-anasui was REALLY boiled down to just loving jolyne and that rlly irked me considering hes my 2nd fav, and i wish we got more of his disassembling habit
-pucci was kinda boring to me, the guy having 3 stands was just like “why wtf?”, and also the whole gravity thing was js like,,confusing and weird imo
-jolyne is just not interesting imo, i do like how motivated and determined she is to safe jotaro and everyone else, but something about her just didnt feel the same as the other protags, i still like her character but shes js the weaked protag for me
-dios other THREE kids felt VERY nessecary
-the ending was very heartbreaking, and at that point i was js too sad to even enjoy it

I believe people have their belief of part1 twisted because they hear it’s bad by other people and mis remember how it actually was

I genuinely can’t understand why people would skip part 2. It’s literally the best of the best of Jojo’s. :( I guess people prefer stupid, over the top/over powered, and boring stands. I can understand why people skip Phantom Blood, I don’t agree with it but understand it. I can’t understand or agree with skipping part two. It’s peak JoJo’s.
