Knows anyone a very cheap interface which can I use with the Blue Yeti (A USB Mic) on my iPhone 8? And yes, I already have the lightning to usb adapter.

I use the Behringer UMC404HD that has its own power adapter and also the ACCK connected to a 30W USB-C Power Adapter with an original Apple Lightning to USB-C cable to power the iPad Pro. There should be enough power but since one of last year's system updates I get the "requires too much power" error anyway. Then I need to unplug-plug a couple of times to make it go away. Not a very stable solution.

If you want to stay completely "mobile" use a power bank instead of plugging to the mains, that's what I use without any problems, you MUST use a USB hub dongle, doesn't mater if it's not self powered, the issue is because the people at Apple are "too smart" and think that the "best" for you is limit the power drain of a single USB device BUT as long as you put a USB hub the problem disappear as now the "smart" Apple engineers realize that multiple USB devices will need that extra power they limited in the first place!
The way I use it : Lighting output of my iPad Air 3rd gen to USB camera connection kit, then female USB of CCK to USB hub, then output of USB hub to my audio interface... Lighting output of CCK to USB power bank, Done!
I use both a Behringer UMC404HD without its power supply or an IK Multimedia iRigHD2

Do you have an advice for a good budget microphone 🎤 for a singer/songwriter using IPAD and Do you know of a lightening female to USB-C adapter like the earlier 30 pins to lightening adapter, as I have a guitar interface (Line 6 Sonic port (non VX)) with only has a lightening connection at the end and is not usable on my IPAD PRO 2020 (USB-C) anymore, so otherwise I have to buy an audio-interface like the Scarlet. I use a power bank to power my mix.

The Apple dongle is not required. I use a single MeloAudio lightning-to-USB "OTG" cable between my iPad/iPhone and my audio interface or MIDI keyboard. (Available from Amazon.)

Wow what a great trick with the powered usb hub but right now I am wondering if you need that expensive dongel.

Wouldn’t it have too much noise in the Audio or video like static from power fluctuations.

Don’t know if anybody here and help me or not but I keep running into the same problem my iPad will only detect my audio interface which is in Irig hd2t for 30 seconds at a time and then cuts offAnd revert to trying to use the built-in microphone on the iPad itself. I tried for a new cables I’ve tried everything nothing works it’s very aggravating as anybody hear it run into that?

Hi is it a way to use the microphone for google duo or zoom calls ? I am not able to switch the microphone there. It is by default picking up the ipad's microphone.

Could you please help me, I am trying to connect my iPad using everything that you've mentioned but my iPad is not picking up the condenser microphone from the audio interface. ( no input channel has been showing). On IPAD.

I'm having the strange issue of my interface which I've been using with my ipad suddenly not function right. It begins to light up, but cannot finish hooking up for use. I'm using a Behringer UMC404HD. I'm finding nothing on the webs touching on this problem. It's been working great for the year or more since I got it until this week.

Oh I wish I had an error message. My iPad just ignores the interface completely as if nothing is shoved in its port and judging by the lack of light on the interface, the feeling’s mutual

Am all set up with mic and guitar inputs into Scarlett solo using iPad mini 5 (2018/2019) and I can hear my monitor playing but upon playback in GarageBand I can’t hear anything and I can’t see any frequency graphing on music line. I notice master volume on app is inactive?? I did see your video on track duplication….but not sure

I wish it was that easy, after all that my focusrite 2i4 keeps blinking, no message on the iPhone about needing power or adaptor connected, nothing. Using Apple camera adaptor into iPhone 11pro max, and focusrite 2i4 1st gen connected. Powering Everything with original iPhone lighting cable… but it just won’t work. HELP?

What drives me crazy is I have a shitty iPhone 7 that connects perfectly fine to my Scarlett 2i2 (with the lightning accessory), but not for my iPad (it’s an iPad Air 2). Makes no sense to me. Even having the iPad simultaneously charging doesn’t fix the issue for me.

Hi, I just received an adapter and powered usb hub, yet when I plug my m-audio air into the hub it turns on, but doesn’t register on my iPad at all. Like in the mic channel settings there is no option for the interface, nor is there a notification on my iPad saying the interface is connected. Is there any solution so that my iPad can recognize that the interface is connected?

Great video, I have a question for you... I recently got a new Ipad Mini 6 and loaded it with all my soft synths which I control with my Ableton Live DAW installed on a Mac Mini (attached to a M-Audio Air audio interface).
Because this newer ipad doesnt have a 3.5 jack (its USB C) I am not sure how to connect this to my audio interface?... I am able to experience MIDI over Bluetooth and trigger the Ipad synths with hardware keyboards and controllers with the help of an app called Midimittr (which makes the ipad talk to my Mac Mini) but how do I get the sound to my speakers?...
I feel like I am asking something really silly and may be able to figure it out anytime now, but for the moment I am stuck.. thanks

this comment might be useful for anyone having issues still with making it work:
on usb-c powered interfaces, like Motu M2, it is crucially important to first fire up the interface, and ONLY THEN connect it to the iPhone. Was bashing my head for 2 days until I figured this. Good luck!!

I used 20W adopter straight to main in the lightening plug along with the focusrite scarlet 2i2, but whenever I turn on the 48w phantom power for the mic, the phone shows the same message. I tried to use the powerbank but it did not work. Can anybody suggest me what should I do?

Mine just stops working randomly and never works again using the same usb Hub. I had to buy multiple hubs. I get no error message. One moment it works, then a week, a month later it stops working and nothing I do makes it work. I have a 100 watt powered hub with a 100 watt charger. Both anker. Slat this point Apple is starting to really piss me off and I’m considering telling Apple to F and not buying their overpriced garbage again.

hmmmm. I've got a steinberg UR22c audio interface. So I have a RHODE mic into that (with 48V phantom power on). I have 5V DC power supply (via a power brick) powering the audio interface (the lights come on!). I then connect the Steinberg output (USBC) to the iPhone 13 mini (lightning). But it does not work, the RHODE mic input is not picked up by either the audio recorder app or garage band. I can't see why this should not work, i.e. the camera adaptor should not be necessary (because I am powering the audio interface independently). Any ideas? thanks !

Bought a cheap Amazon lightning port adapter (not from apple) and it worked fine. Tried this with the powered hub tho, and it didn’t work. The iPad didn’t recognize anything.

Please can you tell me what if the quickest and cheapest way of connecting the line out of my amp into my iPad.

It doesn't need to be fancy. It just needs to be fairly streamlined. Having multiple cables like this won't fly with the wife
