Hello, I've been listening to you guys for the last 2 years. You convinced me a long time ago, but I hadn't made the move. Learned a lot from you guys in the last couple of years looking forward to practicing with my new gun. Thank you.

One of the best videos I’ve ever seen dealing with use of force was done by massad in the 80’s. I was barely born and he was dishing out knowledge most of my instructors at the sheriffs office don’t know. I am so thankful for his videos and they make me a safer more knowledgeable deputy so thank you.

I was a Deputy Sheriff way back in the late '80s and '90s, I carried a Model 59 Smith and Wesson in a Bianchi Shadow holster when I had a concealed weapon on me. It worked OK but back then there wasn't much choices for concealed weapons.

Thanks again!

Good overall view of positions for carrying. One thing I would like to add is that if you were to conceal carry, you would probably not tuck your shirt in your pants. If you are right handed which most people are, you would use your left hand to raise your shirt up while drawing your gun with your right. I don't have my concealed carry license yet, but I would like to think you don't want anyone know that you are carrying.

Open carry is an open invitation to take your gun. Period.

I found the most comfortable way to carry my 5” Colt 45 was with a full shoulder holster, my 44” waist made it impossible to carry around my waist. Any thoughts?

Wouldn't the problem of your weapon pointing at your groin area still be present with a waist-level belt? Great video.

I am a 5’3” 130 lb 67 year old female who has carried in my purse for years…except for the last 5 years I have been trying to find a comfortable body carry position and holster…. I carry a S&W 380 Bodyguard with built in laser using Hornaday ammo and feel comfortable with the 380 as I feel I will only pull my weapon in a close physical proximity and using the Hornaday ammunition, it has enough knock down power in close physical proximity situations. I used to carry a 9mm but I have 4 old crushed vertebrae injuries at waist and about tail bone that have incurred physical limitations on me due to pain issues. I didn’t want to stop carrying so I had to find a smaller lighter weight carry option, also due to those injuries, appendix carry is my only option. I also live in south east Florida and the heat in the summer makes using wide neoprene belly bands impossible but which in cooler weather are great as most people assume it is a back support belt. Please any suggestions or advise would be greatly greatly appreciated. I have been carrying in my purse since I was 30 but really trying to switch to body carry because sadly our Nation is going to crazy land…

The risk on appendix has always made it a hard no for me - something about a loaded gun pointed at my femoral is a huge no go.

If you have a well formed behind, 4 O clock is the way to go - can barely tell its there.

generally if you're carrying IWB holster your extra magazines are also going to be inside waist band at least for myself, so you'll also need to allow room for that. I carry 9mm inside waist band along with three extra mags inside. my revolver is a different story, speed loaders are hard to conceal and usually rely on speed strips in a pocket

I used to carry owb until some nervous old lady called the cops on me in the grocery store. They had to calmly explain to her what CCW was and that i wasn't a threat to her. Its more comfortable to me but i switched to iwb around the 4-5 oclock position since i have a gut. Id also rather rip a round through my butt cheek rather than that major artery in my leg. Crossbreed hibrid holster is a game changer.

i know a few friends who have done apendix carry. but i just cant even consider it. the simple fact i could blow my privates off, or hit the femoral, no thanks.. hard pass.

i've been carrying for about 20 years, and i'd have to say the best for me, is strong side right 3 o' clock.. but IWB.
its mentioned in the video about bending over causing printing when carrying back at the 4-5pm possition.. but if you have a thin/single stack gun, and its 3 o clock stong side right, and IWB.. you are 100% golden to bend over all day, or sit VERY comfortably in a chair.

due to back issues, i recently wanted to give shoulder holsters a try.. but thats been a very depressing journey to say the least.

cheers

i use the quick draw 2 o clock method of carry, its quicker then apendix for 4 reasons, 1.) natural orientation of a swinging hand while walking is 2 o clock not 12 o clock as apendix 2.) grip at 2 o clock is facing and pointing in between 12 o clock and 1 o clock unlike apendix facing 9 o clock wich makes you have to move the gun12 o clock, more travel and another step 3.) no gap to grab grip because apendix is tight up in front of body where as 2 o clock you can have a 1 inch gap to grab grip wth out having to shoe horn around back of grip to grasp it 4.) extra retesion required to hold gun apendix slowing down getting gun out of holster

Another lesson of sage advise. I wish pocket carry would have been included as well in these comparisons.. it adds another option and flexibility. Bottom line i think whatever you choose..practice practice practice..I carry when I mow the lawn or do yard work or any thing to get carry time especially with any new rig and also routinely, but probably not often enough, I practice concealed carry draws and dry fire using a timer. I opted for the 2 inch larger pants and cinch them up if not IWB carry.. Thank you for the insightful video. Mas is an awesome mentor. I wish I could meet him personally. Jerry Miculek as well... I have learned so much from these guys about shooting.
